Robert horry is the sole reason why the spurs won this game in the clutch. And surprisingly Tim Duncan is the reason why they went into overtime in the first place.

Underrated Finals Match-up right here. Everything that basketball represents and how it should be played was in this series.

Leaving Horry wide open in clutch time is an uncharacteristic mistake from such a great defensive team, and they lose the championship because of this one mistake

This was one of the greatest final series ever. Everybody slept on it because it didn't have big stars but there where plenty of great fundamentally sound players.

that court is so hard🤯 they need to put that trophy logo on every finals game to make it feel like the championship more

I'm from San Antonio and as a Spurs fan I have complete respect for Detroit. One of the most intense, evenly match Finals I've ever seen.

This Finals came down to game 7 and tied going into the 4th quarter. As good as it gets and one of my favorite Finals ever.

Billups the most underrated unappreciated pg of the 2000s

Idk how Big Shot Rob isn't in the Hall Of Fame he was a major contributor on all the Championship teams he played in.
  • The 05 Spurs had one of the most impressive paths to the ring in history. They beat the best offensive team (Suns) in the WCF, and then they beat the best defensive team (Pistons) in the Finals.

To this day, I still don't understand why at 8:21 they doubled Ginobili in the corner and left the inbounder Robert Horry, one of the best clutch shooters in the history of the NBA, wide open for that game winner.

This is one of those “Remember where you were at” type of games. It was 2005. I was in 5th grade. My parents had been divorced for a few months already, so I was with my dad this night. I remember constantly waking him up ever time Horry would make a play. At the time I didn’t really grasp just how crazy Horry was, but now that I’ve rewatched this throughout the years, it still makes me feel like I was that 11 year old kid yelling in his dads apartment.

Robert Horry is so fucking Underrated Man.

I remember this game like it was yesterday. It was amazing for the Pistons to go back to the finals back-to-back years. I knew in that final moment tho, when they left Horry wide open, he was going to make it. Horry was the clutch player that game. I hope the Pistons make it back one day. Till then I'm going to continue to support, no matter how good or bad they are.
  • That dunk by Horry was insane in todays game that would be all over the media
  • Year 2005 when i started watching NBA and Pistons was my first love of all teams bcoz of my jersey bought by my mother...and this three point shot by Horry was unforgettable to me and the reason why i came here watch it again after 17 years...
  • this still hurts. Im a big fan of this piston team and that clutch 3 by horry still breaks my heart. If sheed didnt lost his mind double teaming manu and leaving horry wide open this was a back to back for pistons as they won the next game in san antonio.

This Pistons team was very deep. Nobody was a huge NBA star, but every single player in their starting lineup were very good, as well as some in the bench. This reminds me of the Blazers in 2001, with Stoudemire, Steve Smith, Pippen, Rasheed and Sabonis.
