There's a lot we can tell about an ancient building through archaeology and scientific research. We can tell when it was built, and usually how it was built, too. We might even be able to get an idea of what it was used for, but we can't always get all of the answers. Every structure you're about to see in this list is an outstanding feat of ancient construction, and although we know a little about all of them, we're still left with more questions than answers.

All those things carved into or out of stone are not mysterious or hard to explain, you just don't want to admit that we are not the only advanced civilizations that have existed.

The ancients were more technologically advanced than we have been told .

Confirming again that ancient people especially those more than 2000 years old were way smarter than what's the common understanding now.

I had to stop watching when he suggests they wouldn’t have had chisels 1000 years ago.

Sometimes I think this subject brings on the most insane case of denial there is.
  • All this ancient 'how did they do it' stuff reminds me of what Arthur C. Clarke used to say about such things. Clarke as most people will know was the first person to come up with the idea of the communications satellite and he also wrote the classic science fiction book 2001; a Space Odyssey. Clarke simply said that the ancient people who built all these wonders were far more intelligent than the people of the present day who write books and make TV shows about them. Some people are inclined to think that those folks who lived several thousand years ago were 'ape men' compared to us, but if by some means we could transport a child from five thousand years in the past to the present day, with a normal education he would turn out to be just the same as the children of today. The ancient Egyptians were exactly the same as us although they were far more resourceful and very handy with their hands!

You missed 2 of the most mysterious in the world: Puma Punku and the Temple of the Serapheum. You need to do more research on those 2, because they are simply out of this world.

According to Sadhguru an ancient Shivalinga was found near Balbec temple in Lebanon so the ancient civilization was Hindu.

Not to mention the columns that you showed at the beginning ring like a bell almost as if they are made of metal

I have no reason to doubt the king may have commandeered the Petra tomb for his later burial, but I suspect the structure was already there and ancient when he did sol It is probable that Petra is thousands of years older than archaeologist think. There is no incontrovertible proof that any of the buildings were ever intended originally as tombs. I agree Petra comes well under the description of "Mysterious things science still can't fathom!' You got that one right!!
  • I am so glad there are channels like this one as well as what is available on cable/satellite TV. It is the only way people like me (I am disabled due to a work-related injury from years ago) and will never be able to physically go to these wonderful places even though I can afford to do so now. I can only imagine how many others there are like me who live vicariously through the internet which enables us to experience such ancient treasures. TY

The shear number of sites and artifacts that we can't explain yet just go to show that humans have always been innovating and inventing even if their knowledge has been lost over time.

Ancient people are not uncivilized, they're more advanced than we are.

I'm always shocked that Hoysala temples, hampi from Karnataka aren't included here. It is as mystical as the kailasa temple, the carvings are so detailed they even the nerves on the hand are present. There are carvings of human heads as big as a thumb and if a thread is inserted into the ears it comes out of the mouth or from eyes.

What we know about the Mayans, Aztecs, Incas, etc. is that the conquistadors were the big damn heroes of the story. Those groups were seriously messed UP.
