Fishing and camping in Northern California... On a mission to catch my first ever rainbow, brown and any other trout species! We camped near a small freshwater stream surround by spectacular snow filled mountains, probably one of the most beautiful places i've made a video, if not at least the coldest!!!

This is part 1, part 2 coming soon!

Cheers!

First trout was a rainbow, second and third are brown trout. Also, trout aren't as sensitive to noise as they are to movement, especially shadows. I've caught tons of trout while boats are passing by. They are also a fish that best not to horse in because they do have soft mouths and they are easier to release when they are tired. Best also to try and keep them in the water if you plan on releasing. Glad to see you in North America. I hope you have/had a blast!

I'm from this area and love to see your excitement catching new species. I used to watch your MorningTide videos and stay up all night envisioning myself doing what you were doing. I got to go in 2019 and caught some land based trevally, taylor, and salmon. All were new species for me. I was on such an adrenaline rush from the very first cast.

The browns love your pink lure! Congrats on your first
  • A quality net helps with landing trout. Especially if you are in a catch and release or barbless hook zone. Enough practice and they never leave the water. This is a gorgeous area, special.
  • My grandmother taught me how to fish at the June lake loop, sierras. I was 5 on vacation with grams and caught my first fish at June lake, 1960. Enjoy your videos very much, best of luck fishing in my home state 💪🎣🎣

Oh, you're in the Sierra! God's country. A place people must see, so much there and it's breath taking. Plus, Yellowstone, Glacier, SW Colorado. So glad you're here. Hope you love our Western mtns.
  • What I really like about your videos in new places is that you head out with locals but go off on your own and fish your own gear and techniques and earn those new species . Deadly bud. Rainbows and a beautiful brown. Eeow 🤙🤙

Hopefully you'll catch a proper big rainbow one day. The world all tackle record Rainbow trout was caught only a few hours away from where I live (Saskatchewan, Canada). It measured 42-inches long (107cm) , with a 32-inch girth (81cm) , and weighed 48-pounds (22Kg).
