Two males fighting for territory landed in my lap while I was kneeling to plant onions last spring. It was so ferocious they didn't even register where they were, small but mighty!
  • My dad had a wren nest for several years in his workshop. She decided that his box of nails was exactly the right size for her nest. Dad picked it up to get some nails and there was this tiny bird looking back at him, utterly fearless.

My favorite bird! I love to hear them sing at dawn. Someone described his singing as “the pinnacle of singing complexity”
  • Beautiful video! But their song would have deserved some more attention. These tiny birds have huge voices, they belong to our finest singers 🤩

Wrens are my absolute favourite bird. I love to watch them zipping around the garden like demented little brown pingpong balls :)
  • I still have a farthing with a picture of a wren on it that I've had since I was a child. That's one quarter of an old penny, pre decimalisation.

For me, the wren is the most adorable little bird!!!!
  • I've noticed how loudly wrens can sing, for such a tiny bird.. Nice one Liam! 🎶🌟👍
  • A mother bird wren made a nest in our out-houses soffit boards. We documented her for a few weeks and fed her mealworms out of cat bowl. We named her tinkerbel and she revisits frequently!
  • Another interesting bit for you is that many wrens share communal roosting sites in winter. Unused nest boxes can be packed solid with wrens so don’t take them down after nesting is finished.
  • I had a Wren nest in my shed - I couldn't use the thing until they'd fledged. I hope they appreciated it.
  • Wrens are so fascinating, when i first heard their bird call, i was like that is so loud considering the tiny size of such a marvellous little bird. i am always happy when i manage to see them. awesome video Liam, packed with some great information .
  • ❤ the little wren , one of my favourite birds and a frequent visitor in my garden 👍

Ah, the wee droileen ....A thimbleful of song ...
  • I have a family of Carolina wrens nesting in a hanging resin birdhouse shaped like a fire helmet (I’m a volunteer), and I’ve had them nesting in other parts of my backyard over the years. Sometimes they take over a bluebird house, sometimes they nest in one of the hanging birdhouses, and one memorable year they chose a wooden flower box I had under my potting table on the deck. I hadn’t even known they were there until I was planting spring flowers in the pots on my deck and several juvenile wrens came hopping right up to me and watched what I was doing. Those cute little guys had absolutely no fear!
  • What an adorable presentation , featuring my favorite bird of all ! 💚🥰🥰❤️💛🌏🐾
