  • @korn6668
Its crazy how you said that your a non native speaker, i think you have some of the clearest english ive ever heard
  • @YK.Advertise
Great content! Here's a few tips: -record yourself -change the speed of the video if needed -practice w a script -set intention 2 ways of practice: 1. with pause 2. without pause Hope this short summary will help you~
  • I like shadowing; the steps are: Concentrate or pay attention, choice addequate voice, slow the velocity recording, work with script, compare own voice, focus in specific paragraph, quality no quantity. All right.

I do it every day and sometimes can't stop lol. I've fallen in love with a great orator (Jason Silva) and it's been improving not only my English but also my life in all respects. Hadar, thank you for sharing these brilliant pieces of knowledge with us. Thank you for being my teacher!
  • @NathanClingan
In case any learners are not sure, Hadar says she is not native but her English is ABSOLUTELY impeccable. I honestly thought she was native. Her fluency, clarity, enunciation, etc, are better than many native English speakers.

I agree that this Mimicking/Echoing/Shadowing is a helpful technique in improving your English, more specifically your sound production. I used to use this when I was still learning the sound of the language. Actually, I still do once in a while, especially when I feel like I am losing the sound. Thanks for the video, Ms. Hadar.
  • Self-taught is something so important and it's what can make you go further and further and, finally, achieving some of your goals. I've learned a lot from youtube videos and youtube teachers. I always remind my students of how important is studying every day and immerse yourself as much as you can in the target language. Being restless is essential.
  • in brief: In this video, Hadar discusses the benefits of the shadowing exercise and how to optimize it for improving English language skills. Shadowing involves repeating what someone else is saying, helping learners develop intuition, understand sounds, and notice elements like melody, intonation, and rhythm. The video provides tips for conducting shadowing exercises, such as playing the audio without pausing or playing a line and pausing to repeat it. Hadar stresses the importance of setting an intention when doing shadowing exercises to focus on specific improvements. To optimize shadowing practice, Hadar suggests selecting a speaker whose voice resonates with the learner, slowing down the pace of the audio, using a script to follow along, and recording oneself shadowing the speaker. Repeating the same phrase or paragraph multiple times can also be beneficial. She encourages viewers to share their experiences with shadowing exercises in the comments section and invites them to join the InFluency community for more practice.
  • I do like this exercise! Basically, it works for me. In addition, it helps me to memorize things in English (songs, scenes, monologues and so on). And, it's simply exciting to think about the what, the who, and the why behind each shadowing exercise. I usually make a decision about this based on smth that I've heard or seen or thought or even dreamed! So, there's real intention and motivation every time I do the shadowing... Now, I'm trying to work more systematically... Thanks a lot for these practical tips, Hadar! Recording is gonna be my next upgrade 😉
  • @maymary__7
Hello Teacher! Thank you for awesome advice. It's great that nowadays we have the opportunity to use such great techniques as shadowing. I try to do this exercise as often as I can and, to be honest, I'm in love with this method! Sometimes I feel that I hit the wall, but your videos and videos by other passionate english teachers or learners inspire and encourage me to boost my skills. Thank you a lot for your work!
  • Hello Hadar :) I used to follow all these tips when shadowing, but what I noticed was that I was always being stressed and tired of doing things consciously, so I changed tactics and stoped forcing myself to do the shadowing technique intentionally, instead I started using English as if it were my native language and whenever I came across a spectacular sentence I would shadow it for fun.
  • @CelinaIsHere
I've been doing shadowing exercises on and off for the past few years to improve my English speaking but didn't find it to be very efficient. There are 2 main takeaways from this video that I think could be a game changer for me: 1) Practice with intention 2) On/Off method with recording. I hope these 2 tips can help me practice with more focus and see improvement. Thanks Hadar!!
  • Your "shadowing technique" is convincing from the start and gives us everything we need at all levels to learn good fluent English. Thanks, VM Hadar!
  • @MysticalRoutes
Your English is perfect! You sound just like a native speaker! You are so amazing and such an inspiration to us all! ❤
  • @elenad815
I love shadowing technique , that's why I was doing it while listening to you now- I really like your voice, accent and charisma.
  • @24lalapo
Shadowing is a practice I have tried for a long time and it changed my experience as student. Now, as teacher, I have talked about it with my students. Thank so much Hadar for this useful video, you are super motivating.
  • I admired you after this video I’m an Iraqi married woman who suffered a lot to achieve her goal in studying English literature but now I’m in third grade and looking forward to speaking fluently
  • I think, learning 2-3 gr structures and then shadow them in the context is the best practice ever. And you don't need many audios for that. And also its very helpful if one learnt the audio by heart
