I really enjoyed the 6 years we spent vacationing in our class C motorhome. Covered a lot of ground in the summers. Never had even a passing thought about full timing. I got too much stuff and love the place where we live.

What we are seeing is that for where we like to visit each year, we reserve a year ahead, or whatever a particular campground allows. We camp in a lot of state parks, and generally there are sites available (on the east coast).

I'm fifty years old born in 1974 and I grew up in Utah and we did camping in the RV a few weekends a summer vacation if people were to work a career job and earn income over $200,000 a year you should be able to buy a house and utilities and live in society like a citizen 😀
  • My daughter is on a permanent spot on private property. She only pays $500 a month for rent, sewer electricity and water. It is on private property in the country in Florida. She sold her Ram and bought anew car. In the summer she comes north with her cat 🐈‍⬛ and works from wherever she’s at. They are not taking any other RV’s and you have to have a recommendation to get on property.

You also need to consider some the savings. By being full time in a RV, I am saving $15,000 per year in property taxes. I am also avoiding about $400 per month in utility bills. Insurance is about the same on the RV as my house was. Campground fees are a non-cost (or more properly a one time cost) with some membership plans (with the exception of travel to/through places where the plan does not have adequate coverage). Most everything else is about the same.

Yes, if you watch some of the RV Maintenance channels you find that RVs are not built to the same standards as a sticks n bricks home. Electrical and plumbing would never pass a qualified inspection.

Excellent points! And love of the footage of my old hometown Islamorada & the Keys. Know those drives well : )
  • Full time rving is not cheap if you are Traveling. We have a paid for house that we kept but rent. I doubt if we ever live there again. But we have it. Just in case our health fails. We are seniors. There is always maintenance issues with an rv. We have a humidifier for the desert and a de-humidifier for the Midwest and south. I plan and schedule campground’s from 4-6 months in advance.

So true...many people see infleuncer's and think Full Time RV Living is cheaper and will easily solve problems. And while it is certainly cheaper in some ways, in alot of ways, it is not! I find people often forget what the words RV mean...Recreational Vehicle...use it for recreation, not full time living

You can depreciate your house on your income tax for 27 years

Want to test a marriage, have your wife learn (and you learn to understand her directions) to back you into a camp site.
