A Syrian bulldozer driver reveals the horrifying details of burying thousands in secret mass graves.

The Informer is haunted by the mass graves he dug for victims killed by Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

As the revolution unfolded, his municipal role changed into a military position overnight.

This meant, for a year, the Informer was pushing dead bodies into large pits with his bulldozer. He recalls the stench of the bodies being so strong that he’d passed out the first time.

The Informer was later arrested on flimsy charges and imprisoned under brutal conditions because “if he dies, he will die with all of his secrets and knowledge”.

I have a friend who is a Syrian refugee. I would never ever ask his experiences but holy crap this is infinitely more horrifying than I ever could have imagined people having to go through.

Whoever this man is; thank you so much for sharing your story. So incredibly brave. I am sorry for what you have been through brother, may you be Blessed forever on.
  • I just got a digital pen pal letter from a man in Syria. He told me he hoped to find some light in the words of people from other countries. Now I understand the depths that his request must have come from. Thank you for sharing, and I hope that these memories haunt you less in the Years to come.
  • I love you Vice; this series has shown me worlds that i could not have imagined. I hope this man is okay. I hope Syria will be okay.
  • @leonardnimoy7
You buried them with love, not hate in your heart. I hope you find peace. ❤️

Didn’t realize how fortunate i am to not know the smell of a rotting dead body

As someone from Syria, I am so sad to say that we got used to such stories. Syria have become a nation of depressed and traumatized numb people...
  • When I tell you when he started talking about that child it literally brought tears to my eyes bruh. Smh. The things we take for granted, man. And what's so sad, even though we hear about stuff like this happening all over the world we really don't care enough to actually do anything unless it happens to us personally. Then and only then do most of us get active. There's a quote that goes something like "the people who do nothing are as bad as the people who commit the crimes." These type of stories never get easier to hear. May Yahuah help us!
  • I'm truly heartbroken for Syria, I've been there once when I was a child and it was absolutely stunningly beautiful, people in my area used to go every summer. Now no one goes there, but I have vowed when it's allowed to go again, I'll go immediately.

The fact that this is a major profession in 2022 is disturbing. Truly dystopian.
  • We can expect a lot more stories like this coming out in the near future...
  • @jakedrty7643
What a nightmare of a story. I hope he and the people who have died in this senselessness find some sort of peace.
  • @Mububban23
When people complain about "immigrants coming to take our jobs" - you have no idea what some of these people have gone through. Any human would want to leave horrors like this behind them and make a new life somewhere else 😞
  • Whenever I see things like this, all I think of is how the vast majority of people who've experienced such traumatic events will never have the opportunity to get therapy of any kind to help them process their trauma. I am truly blessed to live in a country and have the privilege to have access to therapy, even though my life experiences are nowhere near this horrific.
  • @GregorAdler
His last quote on the child made some part of me die inside.
  • @rocketman8476
Listen to the knowledge he’s dropping. Just take a moment to appreciate how good, you the viewer have it, while you complain about your 1st world problems like internet and your fast food order getting messed up. Having worked many years in customer service and retail, I can’t stand how entitled we as Americans are. All the while atrocious such as he has been dealing with have been going on for decades
  • I feel so sorry for this man. I worked with many Syrian people and they are very kind and tenderhearted. It's tragic what happened to this country. I pray for this man's healing and restoration and for the healing and restoration of the Syrian nation and of it's beautiful people.
  • Thank goodness I am where I am. My heart breaks for people that see horrific things like this man has
  • This is one of the realest most chilling one of these I’ve seen yet bless all those people and their families along with this man and his this is mind blowing to say the least
  • Tears have been shed for you brother, thank you for sharing your story
