This video is so underrated, You showed me that exactly our job is, explained it extremely good!!!

When language models first gained mainstream attention, I predicted that they would accelerate the evolution of software development. I maintain this belief. However, one aspect that may not receive as much discussion is the significance of comprehending abstractions. In the future, we will likely shift our focus away from the diagrams presented in the video. Instead, these components will seamlessly interconnect and align with one another more seamlessly. It's a clear path in the evolution. Furthermore, patching and testing on these modularized components will be handled efficiently by worker models, streamlining the development process. It's not quite here yet but, I'm starting to believe it's slowly dying field.

I think the short term concern is less that current LLMs are going to take senior & mid level developer jobs and more that a large number of the entry level developer jobs are going to go away. And, of course, all of this is premised on current capabilities; but current capabilities are not the same as capabilities 6 months from now, 1 year from now, etc..

question - the estimation phase, I saw you mentioning how a particular feature will take a couple of weeks, so how do engineers come up with that estimation? is that primarily experienced based?
  • @asmrfactory9056
This is probably one of the best explanations on what software engineers do!
  • @CS_CHILD
Please I want to ask you a Question. What language did you start with or what language did you use to gain employment
  • @Ji_zooz
Focus on your learning All the best ❤

If something can make you theoretically better, it can't make you worse 'untheoretically'. And according to which theory and what part of the theory: formulas, laws, or the force as in the THEORY of gravitation ?
  • This was very in-depth. Thank you for the explanation. Question, which coding language is more essential to learn first for a student that will eventually specialize in embedded systems such as microchips and microcontrollers? I am torn between C, C++. Am I on the right track, or is there another language that you would recommend?

Can you make a video on howmyou learn other programming stuff which you are interested in, and are no way about your job. How oftern and how many times you learn. If you do that.
  • @sweaaron
I wish my stories were like: change field type to "phone" 😂😂
  • @johnguillen68
I'm scared that I may not pick this up. Watching your video and realizing this is very difficult. Can course career put me on the path? I have no experience whatsoever.
  • You might have to Pick up a Wrench, a multimeter, power drill, a tape measure, reciprocating saw, or circular saw etc and learn a Trade. Trades aint going nowhere..Actually There is a Shortage of Electricians, Plumbers, HVAC techs and Carpenters. Don't Be Afraid to get Your Hands Dirty
  • @dev_ression
Great explanation Pooja, could not have explained it better myself
