Motors are used in many industries with a high number of these motors being of the induction type. These motors play a very important role in many manufacturing and plant processes. Modern motor protection devices can monitor all relevant operational variables like line voltages and currents, frequency, speed, temperature, etc. Using some or all of the variables, it is possible to implement different sets of protection functions.

The protection configuration also requires an adequate knowledge of the theory of operation of the machine being protected. If one of these motors fails due to overload or experience a short circuit then it can completely shut down these processes. These incidents are very costly for the owner-operator and can result in hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue due to the down time.

Applying the proper motor protection elements to help monitor the running conditions can help with taking the motor offline when a fault or abnormal operating condition exists. In this webinar we will go over some of these elements that are commonly used in motor protection which will give a good fundamental base line of how these elements protect these types of motors.

You can tell this guy knows his stuff, but this was not delivered well. There was not enough detail on these complex topics. There's a much better motor protection video on etap's channel that your time's better spent.
