My parents got me an SNES for my 8th birthday in 1993 (got Super Mario All-Stars for free through that promotion Nintendo was pushing, minus Shiping & Handling). I was already saving up the money from my paper route and the money from my grandparents/uncles/aunts for birthdays and Christmases for it, so I was able to put it towards a Model 2 Genesis when it came out in 1994. None of that SNES vs. Genesis war at school for me...I borrowed games from both sides and had a blast. P.S. King of Dragons is another great beat-em-up.

I got my SNES around Christmas 93. A couple of games I feel are badly underrated that don't get talked about much are Robotrek which is an RPG where you play as a kid genius inventor who has to design robots to fight for him and War 3010 which was a turn based tactics game that came out around the time the N64 launched and was the only SNES turnbased tactics game I remember owning that focused on space combat instead of ground or sea combat.
  • Rock N Roll Racing was probably my favorite SNES racing game. I bought it, I only rented F-Zero.
  • That rock n roll racing looks like RC Pro Am on steroids. Gonna have to check that one out.
  • Another game I had for NES this game was hard! Game play looks so much better on SNES

i never heard of rock n roll racing being underrated, it was a top tier snes game back in the 90's. the music on the genesis was bad but was still good overall
