Honestly, genocide is bad enough, but manipulating them with emotions and then murdering them off-guard is borderline sadistic, and that's what truly makes a monster

I'm really glad this method was taken into account. The dialogue could have just been recycled from when you'd begin with fighting in the first place, but scenes were made especially for if you went the extra mile to make them lower their guard so you could kill them more easily. Undertale is a masterpiece.

holy fuck... seeing Toriel SNAP like that is more terrifying than anything else in the game. I can easily imagine a whole different ending for doing the game this way.

My first time I attacked Toriel during her "vulnerable" moment, and i didnt expect that she would die. I felt bad so i closed the game back to my save point and spared her that time. After leaving the ruins Flowey said he knew. I was so frightened 😭😭😭

I feel like an even worse option would be to spare one of the royal guards and walk away after murdering the other
