  • Fun fact: Diego was meant to die in the first movie, but since test audiences liked him, they kept him alive. Probably explains why he doesn’t do shit after the second movie

The most upsetting thing about Ice Age having four sequels is that not a single one was about them finding the kid again from the first film. I kept hoping that he would show up all grown up one day and see all his animal friends again, but no.

Rio 2 was so good it sold 2 Rioillion tickets. Truly one of the animated movies of all time
  • @lenlaegrim
"Dreamworks didn't even make 5 of any of their franchises, not even Shrek" oh, this aged wonderfully
  • I originally went "oh, I wonder what he thought was wrong" and then remembered the date
  • @taicanium
Schaffrillas: "I don't vitriolically hate the movie at the bottom of this list." Ice Age 5: Schaffrillas: "And I took that personally."

As an archaeologist who loved the first Ice Age when I was little, I was CRUSHED by the wasted potential. How would early humans, presumably the first to come to the Americas, interact with excellent sources of food that are sentient? Does the baby remember them? Does the baby's family remember them? How does that effect their interactions? But no, we simply must have colorful female sloths and aliens.

I love how Schaff cares so little about this list that he turned it into an April Fool's Joke Truly a Yummo Wickersham moment
  • @bluewater6878
For those of you confused, the original ranking was taken down because of copyrighted music in the end. Edit: It's not an April Fools Day joke.

The original Ferdinand story was a beautiful short story about how even though Ferdinand appeared to be rough and wild, he didn't hurt anyone when given the chance. He just wanted to smell the flowers. He looked mean, but was actually super sweet.
  • The fact that Schaffrillas is capable to ironically love a character of a mid-bad movie in every company still is amusing as hell.
  • I was expecting 42 minutes of a joke ranking but I got something even better

I'm holding back tears... the performance was so powerful. Jesse Heisenberg would be proud.
  • Fun fact about The Peanuts Movie: Everyone's actors were switched out due to them getting too old for the roles with the exceptions of Snoopy and Woodstock. Their actor, Bill Melendez, who also directed almost all of the Peanuts specials, passed away a few years prior to the films release. So they used archives of his voice as the characters to voice them. Also every actor in the movie is a child except for 3 of them, one being Melendez.

As an animator who has worked at many of these studio's movies you review. All your animator jokes make me laugh so hard
  • It’s sad that a toxic fanbase forced Schaffrilias to destroy a perfectly crafted and well spoken review just so they could be internally satisfied that “everyone” loves Rio and they weren’t wrong
  • One thing I like in Rio is how they didn't make Blu incompetent. Because it would be easy to make him completely loser who Jewel has to constantly save and teach about living and parting, and who suddenly gets badass in the emotional climax of the third act. But no, he isn't useless, he isn't burden (beside the no flying thing of course) and he has quite a few moments. Like the time where he climbed on top of the arbor with Jewel or how he mimicked dog's barking to scare off a cat at the smugglers. But possibly most important the dance off scene. Where in more generic movie you would expect Jewel to be the one to initiate the dance with Blu, instead it's the other way around. I like it. It makes it more believable as to why she fell for him.

Robots was one of the movies that people gave too much hate towards for the past decade. The worldbuilding was very fleshed out, the message was ahead of its time for animation, and despite the armpit & fart jokes it’s actually kind of funny. The pop culture references were also not super outdated compared to other references, since they chose ones that actually lasted.
  • @KuramaKyubi9
Fun Fact: The studio was originally planning to send the animation team to Brazil to help with the creative process for Rio, but the threat of mass suicide from the crew convinced them not to. This is widely considered the proper response to being threatened with going to Brazil.
