Main Takeaways: Jace doesn’t pull out canonically, Loot is the key to new merchandise. Jace’s MOM is the GOAT

The writer for the epilogue was also the one who wrote the absolutely beloved Ixalan storyline! I'm so happy she came back after all these years, this epilogue was so good

You should have noted that Lead Pipe got a story spotlight upside Proft's head!

I love more than anything that Jace raw-dogging is canon. That was important to know.

i hope we see garruk on strixhaven as a double faced planeswalker with liliana

I should have known this from her years as a pirate captain, but Vraska really does love seamen

This epilogue is much better than the main story of the set

Man I absolutely died at the cold brew coffee from Tarkir joke

Overjoyed that they got Allison Luhrs back to write more Jace/Vraska! My dreams of half-gorgon babies may be dashed, but I will take the cute merchandizable mascot

These are the stories that make me love Jace as a character. He's grown so much from the cocky kid in the artifice books.

the "9 years earlier" was a great call back to another banger mtg novel, the Agents of Artifice Fans should give it a go if they can get their hands on the book

At the start of the story today I was “done” with Magic story (as someone that read the books in the 90s). I was thinking simple plot armor “oil vanished - Jace and Vraska cured”. But, I actually like how old story elements helped them survive and am pleasantly surprised. I REALLY LIKE the idea of them becoming the new “villains” (depending on viewpoint). Like Ryan says: it’s compelling because of “what are they willing to do?”

I like the direction the story is going. The omen paths are more interesting than I initially thought.
  • Oh man, we're finally here! I absolutely adored the Epilogue chapters. I think the author did a great job of walking us back through the relevant parts of Jace's history to provide context for the journey she was about to take Jace and Vraska on. I loved how the flashback scenes recontextualized prior scenes from across the past year of Magic's story, and I thought the answers that she provided for most of the big remaining questions, like how Jace and Vraska survived, were interesting and satisfying. But what I loved most about these chapters were how they set up Jace, Vraska, and Loot to be our new Anti-Hero Antagonists. My favorite type of antagonist is "the person who has steadfast, unwavering convictions but who is horribly misguided". The kind of antagonist will genuinely reach out to the heroes with a welcoming hand and an invitation to join them, and who cannot understand when that invitation is rejected. Watching the trio walk off into the sunset with their hearts set on burning everything down to rebuild it to their own standards was such a great ending. I'm genuinely excited to see what happens next!

The main story already gave me a "Borderlands" vibe, with the western theme, the vault and it having a powerful creature inside. Now with Tamiyo mentioning that there are several of these vaults, I'm quite sure where the writers got their inspiration from.

Jace appearing and saying 'Mommy HELP' will forever be burned into my mind🤣🤣

Just gotta say I love these videos. I love the lore but have found it so hard to read the past year or two, so I usually just wait patiently until you post your summaries to keep me informed.

I LITERALLY was asking my friend at church today, "So, how did Jace get uncompleated?" Thanks, my dude.
