NEW Greater Anglia Class 720 Aventra: Everything You Need To Know & Full Review [4K]

Published 2021-02-14
The British Rail Class 720 Bombardier Aventras have just begun rolling out on GEML (Great Eastern Mainline) services, operated by Greater Anglia. They are replacing Class 379, Class 321 and Class 317 units as well as Class 387 units at c2c. All units destined for Greater Anglia are five car 720/5s whilst c2c will be receiving ten car 720/6s. They were originally scheduled to begin delivery in 2019 but much like the Class 710 units for London Overground, software problems meant they were heavily delayed and only began entering service in late 2020 (when this was filmed). Here we look at the interior and watch these units arrive at Prittewell station and depart Shenfield station.

I’ve been to Shenfield and other stations in Essex. And the Class 720s are wonderful trains.
  • Ouch. It hurts to see lovely units like the 317 and 321 getting scrapped. I do think the 379s still have some life left in them.
