Put Barry in during 1940, 1960, 1980, 2000, and current... he’d be the best at ANY time period. Best rb of all time by far.

As a native Chicagoan, I was lucky enough to watch him at least twice a year. There just isn't a show like him.

Barry Sanders is the most fascinating NFL player ever. No one will duplicate his feats.
  • This brought back so many great memories. Throughout the '90s a few friends and I would drive from Savannah Georgia to Tampa Bay to watch the Lions play against the Buccaneers. My favorite game was on October 12th, 1997. The Lions won 27-9, but what made the game so incredible was the historic game Barry Sanders had. Barry had 24 carries for 215 yards with 2 rushing TDs and a 7 yard TD reception. He passed Jim Brown on the NFLs All-Time Rushing List. He became the only player in NFL history to run for two 80+ yard Touchdowns(80, 82) in the same game. This was also the year he broke 2000 yards. It was a very memorable day for me. Thank you Mr. Elliott Harrison for this trip into the past.

Barry Sanders is unquestionably the greatest RB of all time. Just too bad he was on a horrendous team that forced him into early retirement (he would have every single meaningful record had he not retired early). - NOT a Lions fan

It’s a shame the younger generation didn’t get to see Sanders play. Hasn’t been a running back like him since. He was special.

Barry Sanders, the quickest 0 - full speed you will ever see. It looks like he puts 30% effort and he goes 80% speed. Just crazy.

He's the reason I became a Lions fan as a kid :) Still rooting for them this to this day!

Honestly, he really was/is the greatest RB (so far).
  • I don't live in Detroit and I am not a Lions fan... But I think Barry Sanders was the most amazing RB I have ever seen. There may be RB's with better total numbers but there is no one that had Barry's combination of instinctive moves, ability to accelerate through the smallest gap, and break tackles. I love watching his highlights... He always makes me laugh... He made some of the best defensive players in NFL history look like clowns. And the guy was a class act both on and off the field.

Man do i miss watching Barry Sanders! he was amazing! I get to say to my grandkids that i got to watch him when he was live!

Barry displayed the humility of a warrior spirit. No dancing after a score - just another day at the office. I show my son greatness when we watch Barry and although not apart of this video Earl Campbell’s name must be mentioned when “greatness” is mentioned.
