One of the easiest ways to find clients as a freelance developer is to use Recruiters.

Yeah. I said it.

Recruiters can be your secret weapon as a freelance developer in order to find clients when you're not able to find a client on your own.

In this video I'll show you how I've used (and still do use) recruiters to help make sure I always have clients.

In other words, recruiters can and will be your neverending source of clients. They'll save your rear when you're in dire straights.

  • Donn, this is the best advice to start freelancing I have ever heard! Off topic question, how do you deal with health care as a freelancer in the US?

Very good video, thanks. Do you have any tips for finding recruiters which have contracting/freelance opportunities? It seems like many of them only have full time permanent positions. Cheers

Just found you channel and I love your content! I am recently transitioning towards freelancing/contracting from working as a full time salaried dev for the past 14 years. I really like this approach and have had good luck with recruiters in the past finding full time jobs, but I have a clarification question. How much luck have you had finding recruiters that are able to supply you with either part time or short terms opportunities directly? I had floated this to several recruiters I had worked with in the past and pretty much always got a response that that only have salaried opportunities, or if they did have contract it was something where I would working as a contractor for their agency, which I would prefer not to do. Curious if you have run in to this as well and how you were able to zero in on freelance specific opportunities.

Are recruiters charge you to find clients? Should I pay them or offer them a percentage from projects?

Hi Donn, I am fairly new to software development. How do I get in contact with a recruiter If I am extremely new to software development? I am capable of creating a landing page using PHP and JavaScript alongside MySQL. I am in the New York City and my google skills aren't that great. I am looking for recruiters who are looking for an entry level job, thanks Donn.

This video is confusing. Are you talking from the perspective of a Freelancee or Job Seeker. If Freelancer, why do you need a Recruiter
