I have always wanted to own the Colt Mustang .380 ACP. Over 10 years ago, I bought a Sig P238, which is a fine version of the mini 1911.

My dad had one for about 10yr and he carried it with him everywhere he went, I think he put a couple thousand rounds through it.

Bought my steel version in 1994. It has been very reliable. It sports Wolf Springs and guide rod now. It has had about a thousand rounds through it and the plastic guide rod finally showed some chewing on it so it got replaced with steel. Sweet 380 that handles everything. I do not put any +p thru it.

Most .380's have been prohibited to own in Canada for many years due to barrel length however I do remember selling some of the first Mustangs in the early 80's. They were O.K.

Cute little bugger. Looks like you need to be a jeweler to take it apart.

Hello OddBallSchtuff, thank you for this video, very helpful, and well done. Unfortunately I did not watch it before i tried cleaning my Colt Pocketlite and the Spring Loaded Ejector rotated through and I need a video or help to get it reset. Do you have anything for me? My wife has some videos here on YouTube, I do not.

Love the video. I've been trying to find a manual. Any idea where I might download one?

My Colt Govt Pocketlite is slightly different than the one that you used to demonstrate the takedown and reassembly. Mine is a slightly longer, has a front protector cylinder for the recoil spring, a shorter piston and an apparatus around the front of the barrel that has to be twisted to remove the front spring protector and then removed in order to then remove the barrel. That said, please make the video showing how to re-set the ejector as I cannot figure it out. Also, how is the safety spring and nub reinserted? I don't even know why it popped out but when I reinsert it, it won't stay in and I can't figure that out either. Lastly, my piston only has ONE Recoil Spring, not Two. I purchased it that way and it was working fine with the one. Should I look into finding the second spring or is it that my version is just slightly different than the one you used?

I had the ejection pin go the whole way around you said you would make a video of getting it reset please
  • @ianbhartman1
Yes I dropped the ejector on accident. Any suggestions on how to get it to pop back up? Or a video.
