Don’t you sometimes feel like a stranger in your own skin? You walk past a storefront window or see a picture of yourself taken by a friend and you think, “is that really me?” The way you looked in that moment contrasts how you see yourself in your head.

While this is an uncanny experience, it's even more unsettling when it occurs on a deeper, more emotional level. This is how to begin your journey of self discovery.

One thing i learned is when i tried to force myself to go on a self healing/improvement journey in my gap year I learned. That it is not a single trip but an everlong journey within your life keep improving and keep growing guys

You ever read a book that is just so dense you have to take it 1 piece at a time? That's how I feel about Aperture. Everything is so useful, every video so dense with great knowledge, but I can't watch every video because I'm usually still processing the last one by the time the next comes out. The quality is amazing and I've never seen a bad Aperture video.

The situations we find ourselves in sometimes define who we are at that moment. Life's unpredictable and that's a hard pill to swallow. Do your best in whatever you're doing and try something.
  • Indeed, Stoicism beckons us to embrace a mindset of resilience and equanimity—a state of being undefeatable in the face of life's trials and tribulations. It invites us to confront adversity with courage, to embrace hardship as a crucible for growth, and to find serenity amidst the chaos.

I'm a collection of experiences. Everything I've ever seen, heard, felt or thought. That's who this person is. Prior to that, there was nothing. Nobody.
  • nice story but kudos to the editor cinematic masterpiece it’s an vibe like seasons

In self-discovery, I find it helpful to make a distinction between my ego, and my Inner Presence: The ego tells stories about the experiences of this meat-suit. My Inner Presence is the part of me still in existence long after this meat-suit is worm food. There’s at least two of us in here; more of you subscribe to the Inner Family Systems construct. When asking “Who am I,” it’s important to first decide which “I” I’m talking about.
  • Everywhere you go, you shall find dramatic splendor and awe because your majestic soul is part of the vivid whole, and nothing about you is ignoble
  • Ahh, the I me mine, our shared sense of locative centrality.. (local - relative).... The Moment of Awakening.... As in the process of When what the knower knows becomes the knowing... As when the wakeful state awakens into the Awakening... Thanks For The Connective..!! @Aperture

Something worth asking might be, what kind of person even concerns themselves with such things? Most people lack the insight or the analytical ability to conceive of themselves as anything other than their daily experiences. They react from their emotional gut and don't think much beyond what happens in the present moment. Consequences of actions are something you deal with later when they occur. The message of this video is meaningful but not to many. Is a journey of self-discovery to be led by what you want? Or should we try to discover what we are, in spite of what we want? Do we seek a self that is hidden or do we express the self that exists in the moment? How will you recognize yourself when you find your self? Perhaps the best method of being true to yourself is to always ask yourself, "Am I acting/feeling this way because of my own desires or what others expect of me?" " What do I value - doing or being?", is another good question.

If you want to know yourself I think you should ask people who are close with you what they think of you, maybe it can help you see what you show compared to what you want to show the world.

I love your videos and I always count how many voice cracks I heard in your video (While writing this I discovered myself making weird jokes...)
