Just want to point out since we didn't mention it in the video. This is NOT sponsored at all by anyone. This is purely based on Blakes opinion and his 29 years of experience. Now if any of these brands want to do a sponsorship... 👀

I never knew that microwave switches wore out when opening while running. Good advice.
  • Really appreciate this video. As a technician myself, our opinion carries a lot of weight versus any sales person. We have nothing to lose by being honest and sharing our experiences!

We've had our BOSCH dishwasher for 16 years now. ZERO problems. Quiet. Looks like new inside and out.

Love this! Two cents on LG washer vs. fridge: a VP named Cho in LG Washer division who retired in 2019 was a legend. He devoted his life in LG washing machine division for 20 yrs since graduating high-school. It is unheard for a non-graduate-school-grad , let alone non-college-grad to be a VP in LG. That shows how much of a legend he was, and how much devoted he was to washing machines.
  • Such a great unbiased video. It's great to hear a repair guy say "LG makes a great washer but their fridges suck"... True honesty. Thank you!

During my 8 months as an apliance installer for lowes in 2016/17, the most frequently returned and exchanged brand was samsung. The least was whirlpool and GE.

I’ve been in business 29 years next month, and we share some of the same thoughts. I only recommend Bosch dishwashers and Speed Queen laundry equipment. The LG top loader washers are good too. I don’t see them for service until about the 10 year mark. The GE top load washer is another story all together. Their transmissions leak oil within the first year of service. And the newly mandated R600a is problematic to say the least. I’ve diagnosed about a dozen refrigerators using it, all less than a year old, with locked up compressors.

Your confidence in Bosch dishwashers was exactly what I was keeping an ear out for. Thanks for sharing the experience with us common folk.
  • One thing I would add to the ice maker side is if it’s in the fridge area, it’s going to fail or cause problems even more often. Avoid ice makers that aren’t in the freezer

I bought a Bosch dishwasher based on a repairman’s suggestion. It took some time to get used to and I had to get creative with how I loaded things, but it’s by far my favorite appliance in my house.

We have 16 year old whirlpool front door washer dryer and still running like champ. Never ever had any issues. We joke that we have taken it for granted.
  • The one thing that I have heard consistently from repair men and videos like this, is that you want to have your icemaker be in its natural environment: the freezer area. So you will basically need a side-by-side if you want an in-door icemaker. Otherwise, just get the one at the bottom that you need to scoop out the ice. Even better is if you have an icemaker as a separate appliance altogether if you have the space.

SpeedQueen classic top loader, still going 15+ years.. best thing i have ever owned.

Does Blake have his own YouTube channel? Seems like a guy with a lot of knowledge and wisdom. And he's great on camera. I would subscribe immediately!

I think the thing with the ice makers isn't just the harsh environment but that water all over the world is extremely varied in quality and cleanliness. Even in the US, there are a lot of variations with mineral content so those minerals are building up in the lines, around the electrical components, and mechanical parts.
  • I was a kitchen and bath remodeler for 25 years, got asked a million times what appliances should I buy... I gave them my appliance guys card & told them "he'll guide you based on your needs & he'll give you a good discount", he always did and I always came out looking like a champ!... Oh and I was always a simple Whirlpool guy... washers, dryers, dishwashers & refrigerators, in 50 years of use, I've only gone through two sets of each, still on the second set!
  • I sit here watching YouTube waiting for my Frigidaire french door fridge to get delivered today. My wife and I have been worried if we made the right choice. Then this guy praises them and even shows what looks like the exact model we bought on screen as he talks about them. Thank you for calming my nerves!

I have watched so many videos like this and this is by far the most informative. Thanks for the info Blake! You Rock!!

Loved this, it's like a repair guy uncle just spitballin' about his job and what you should be buying for your house. Straight talk without trying to sell me something. That's how you get me to buy something from you. Good luck in your lives and careers and thanks for taking care of our appliances!
