I think a lot of people forget Nintendo first announced Prime 4 back in 2017 specifically for the Nintendo Switch. Keeping the release for the system is honoring their word which in my opinion is VERY important to maintain customer trust.
  • The MvC trailer was a master class in show me don’t tell me. If they made a big build up hoopla, then to reveal a retro collection, the non-fgc would be “all that hype for a retro collection?” Instead, Max getting his brain fried as a viral moment did way more to communicate to the non-fgc crowd how special this is than anything Capcom could’ve put together.

My (not) spicy take is that Ace Attorney Investigations 2 getting an official localization is awesome news and everyone here should play it
  • The wildly different gameplay seen in echoes of wisdom very likely IS because Zelda is the protagonist this time. Not in a "Oh she can't be a HERO, cause she's the PRINCESS" way; that's stupid. But rather in a "She relies on a fundamentally different set of skills from Link, and represents an entirely different piece of the triforce. Of course her gameplay would be different." sort of way.

Honestly, all ya need to know about Sylux is that he hates Samus, hates the Galactic Federation, and has access to Metroids His more in-depth lore, origins, and backstory are largely unknown, and aside from what I listed above, all we know about him is he's allied with the space pirates and has a stolen Federation tech
  • The Peach game was easy because it's made by the developers of Yoshi's Woolly World and Crafted World. They just mainly make simple platformers.
  • I don’t know how someone could think Metroid prime 4 looks “empty” when none of the prime games have ever been run and guns. You’re essentially a space detective in those games. Not sure if that person has ever played prime

You know we’re in a good era when most of the spicy takes feel nitpicky and unreasonable.

Just because they announced MP4 for the switch, it does not mean they are not going to put it on the next system. Twilight Princess, Breath of the Wild, just to name a couple.

“You don’t title your game based on a funny” Maniacally laughs in Untitled Goose Game

We didn't know who Rundas, Gandrayda, Ghor, Admiral Dane, or anyone from prime 3 was before we played the game. That's what that's like, you play a game and then are introduced to characters as the game progresses.

I wholeheartedly disagree with the guy who says Brothership is going to bomb. The audience for this game isn't going to be fatigued at the amount of Mario RPGs, in part because they aren't these massive timesink commitments that other RPGs, like Dragon Quest and Persona, are. Also, at the end of the day, people will just see them as Mario games, and I doubt Mario fatigue will ever truly set in on the Switch, mainly because the Switch library is so diverse otherwise.

Prime 4 is in the BotW position where it was announced for the current system ages ago and is obligated to launch on it, even if it doesn’t make as much financial sense as just being a launch title for the new system.

20:00 “And Samus is coming for you too buddy” is one of the most fear inducing phrases in gaming.
  • @auggie4269
The guy complaining about the Prime 4 trailer looking like a ‘bad tech demo’ is 100% a PlayStation fan that can’t fathom a trailer having actual gameplay

10:05 I beg to differ. All Mario RPGs on the switch feel so different from each other that people will still want to play more, despite being released in a year. It's different compared to the New Super Mario bros series, where they felt too similar in such a small window.

We aren’t excited to get MORE Sylux, we‘re excited to get ANY Sylux! We love his aesthetics, and we are excited to learn more sbout him because he literally has never had any character development whatsoever outside of instruction booklet texts and such. So this game, if anything, will be more of an introduction to him than a reappearance.
  • I don't remember not knowing a character or villain beforehand ever getting in the way of my enjoyment of a game. I mean, most of the time I only know about them once I get through the story 😂
  • I don't get how anyone look at the gameplay in the new Zelda game and think it will be dumbed down? They showed them defeated an enemy by placing a rock, having the enemy attack the rock and get stunned then throwing the rock at the enemy, then repeating the whole process one more time just to defeat the enemy fully. That right there is already way more complicated and involved than walking up to and enemy and spamming the sword button until the enemy dies. I saw that in the trailer and was like oh wow it looks like it's a puzzle just to figure out how to even defeat basic enemies, I can already imagine the complicated stuff that you are expected to do to defeat a boss in this game.
