The BEST Style of Kickoff YOU Should Use. A long-awaited video on my channel, the best kickoff in rocket league is a video that has been asked about a lot recently in regards to the speedflip. People often ask when a rocket league speedflip kickoff tutorial is coming out, and I have been holding back due to this video. But having put some time aside to dedicate to this kickoff tutorial, I am very happy to announce my rocket league kickoff tutorial.

Now it might not be the speedflip tutorial or speedflip kickoff tutorial that everyone has been waiting for, but it has definitely been the most useful kickoff I have used in a long time. While it isn't the fastest kickoff tutorial, it is still a fast kick off tutorial none the less. I cover why I don't use the speed flip, some kickoff tips for understanding and using my fast kickoff, and how to improve your fast kick off using the tutorial.

If you need more advice on the speedflip and the speedflip kickoff, head over to see Musty and check out his speedflip kickoff video!

A few of you might be about to go off at me for not doing the speedflip... Truth is I am not good at it, I mess it up all the time and I wanted an easy alternative while I take time to learn it. So can we all put the pitchforks down now... I am learning it... RELAX Also www.twitch.tv/thanovic

Well I’m silver 2 and I can speed flip kickoff into a musty ceiling shot double touch and I did all of this while only playing the game for 38 minutes but my teammates let me down and I should be gc... well it sucks to suck buttercup.

This has been flat out my favorite video I’m not a fan of speed flipping on kick off and I’ve been trying to practice something like this, thanks for the help.

I think this is one of the closest things to a real life sport, so much depth to learning it, teamwork, practice. There's always room for improvement
  • @IvarsKublins
Thanovic uses simple diagonal flip to not mess it up... That moment when I realize I usually don't use flips at all, because I can mostly mess up diagonal flip too... :D
  • @peripherii3124
Dude, your tutorials are the most advanced, broken down easily enough for anyone to understand. I started as a plat 2 this season, and am now champ 1. Thanks so much for all you do homie, and keep it up!

I've started playing 1s recently trying to learn kick offs, something that helped me alot was making sure I concentrated on not losing the kf first and having boost at the end if something did go wrong. I went from plat 2 to d2 in a week.

I started playing a few weeks ago. I find your tutorials very clear and very well explained. For all of that, I thank you a lot. Greetings from Argentina!

  • I like the video and would like to add knowing the speedflip kickoff is very beneficial if you main 1v1s. I do myself and for a while I tried to win possesion off kickoff, for about an entire season I got used to learning how to just be slow enough to win most of the time and keep the ball close after with a dodge intact to wavedash for a faster recovery than my opponents. This started to not work against some of my higher mmr friends (1300 and 1480) we started 1v1ing every day for about a month and I was consistantly beat, trying to diagonal flip, slow kickoff, fake into stall 50/50 to maintain position, and wavedash kickoff. I thought I was decent at reading opponents for kickoff but every single time without fail I would loose the 50 and possesion even if i had 20 boost saved or 0. When I questioned how I was shown the speed flip, which I thought I had known how to do but I was shown ways to do so even faster and maintain about 15-18 boost and made my time to the ball match them making the matches a bit more even. There were only 2 ways I could start countering their kickoffs which were to slow kickoff and guess which direction they would hit the ball and jump in that direction before they made contact with the ball or speedflip to match so I would at least remain close. If I lost the battle to the ball in speed I was left in their half without possesion and no hope of getting back. If I guessed I gave myself a better chance but it is hard to use against someone you aren't used to facing then you dont know whether they will send it to the corners or directly at your goal so if you dodge the wrong way you are in the same position. So against most people 1300 and up I would speedflip the first kickoff and maybe the second to get the feeling for how they play and then if you feel confident loose one or two kickoffs in 1 direction and then the next time do a slow kickoff and dodge in the direction you think they will try to push the ball through to dodging the direction they are coming from diagonally, you will avoid a demo but not actually force out a 50/50 in reality it would just be you taking the ball off of them as they dodge out of position into your side, that puts them out for about 0.5 seconds because they will be stuck flipping and then maybe another second to recover with 32 boost (20 saved plus 1 penny) if you have 20 boost saved after kickoff which doing a slow kickoff you may even have more 1.5 seconds is more than enough to shoot the ball or get it on top and flick it. For 1v1 mains or people who really enjoy 1v1s they will plan the next kickoff based on how you did the past one's so focusing on perfecting 1 way might not be enough. Just my opinion. All the info you gave was pretty great too though. I just wanted to give more insight to those who might be trying to look for more info

Thank you thanovic I was doing the diagonal flip and was impressing my higher ranked mates with how good and consistent my kickoff was and then I told them I don’t use air roll and they explained it’s not a proper kickoff and I looked at the real one and thought it was more satisfying and looked way cooler so I got dragged into it but I’m slowly falling back into the diagonal kickoff ❤️

6:06 I have the same problem lol, flipping to the left is so much more comfortable for me And this just shows how good pro players are, they have to be comfortable doing every skill consistent with left and right
