How To Install the New Software UPDATE for the Ford Maverick

Published 2023-09-26
Hey All! It looks like there is a new update for our Ford Mavericks! In this video we revisit how to update the software or firmware (as some call it) for the infotainment (radio) unit in the truck.

The process is always a little bit rocky, but you just need to follow the steps and keep patient.

This was the first update we did on the new Tremor. So far so good.

Thank you so much for supporting the channel and watching!

Excellent! Thank you. I did this Monday but no joy. I didn't know the "scan twice" trick. Thank you!

Optionally, go for a drive during the installation (after the download) and instead of turning the ignition off and back on, just press and hold the Power & Seek forward buttons until the infotainment system restarts. That last thing is good to know for when the infotainment locks up \ freezes.

I am having problems with my 23 maverick with the volume not going past level 14? Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? I tried all updates and resetting everything.

I hope it fixes the problem with when you get a phone call I have to hit the speaker button on my phone to get any sound through the speakers to be able to talk

Can the updates be done using the hot spot connection through my cell phone? I don't want to start something and corrupt the entire system.

Do we know if this update is specifically for the Ecoboost vehicles or if it applies to the hybrids as well?
  • @gayleedmondson3204
Is it possible to download these updates to a thumb drive and install from there? Seems like it would be a lot faster
  • @kennyhart2699
Do you need to physically do this every so often or will it automatically update?
  • @jerrygreene7139
Just curious, what is that button to the left of the Hazard button? My XLT doesn’t have that.
  • @SSGrille
Really dumb question, is there anywhere in the Maverick or the infotainment system to physically plug into your network? My Maverick is being delivered this week, from my driveway to my router is about 30’ close enough I expect the Wi-Fi to work fine, but close enough to just plug in a CAT5 cable, toss it out the window and plug directly into the truck. Can’t expect that dealerships do these updates over Wi-Fi, probably a USB stick, or a direct connection. Thanks for posting.
