This is a video on the scale of Black Holes in the Universe. I've been making it for four months now so I'm really happy to finally get it out to everyone, I hope you enjoy it! Black Holes are fascinating and there's so much to say about them, from atoms to neutron stars, gravitational lensing, supermassive black holes, quasars, the secrets of the Universe even time travel. So I couldn't cover quite everything here, which means there will definitely be more on them in the future. It's also an area where we're still learning a lot so it's quite possible the largest black hole crown will go to another black hole soon, even bigger than the one in TON618.

Quick corrections and points to note:
I messed up one of the lines towards the end, I said TON618 has more mass than the entire Milky Way but I meant to say more mass than all the stars in the Milky Way. The Milky Way has a lot of hidden matter called dark matter which makes the galaxy incredibly heavy, a lot heavier than the stars.

Also the physicists out there might not be super happy with my description of gravity reaching out and grabbing things, technically it bends spacetime but I do try to balance how technical I am so everyone can appreciate it.

A few people have said Phoenix A is bigger than TON618 but as of February 2024 I think TON618 still has the crown, PhoenixA has been measured indirectly by a couple of different methods, one bigger than TON618 and one smaller. TON618 has been measured directly so is the more reliable black hole king… for now.

Otherwise, as I said at the end, thank you so much everyone for all the kind comments, I just hit 100k subscribers two days ago with 5 videos on my channel, I couldn't have gotten here without your support. I've had so many touching comments about how much the videos have meant to people and that really motivates me to keep trying to make this channel as different and special as I can make it.
I've got lots of plans for 2024 and will be making videos more regularly so thank you for being here, for believing in me, in the channel and I'm already looking forward to the next video.

Cheers,
Epic

This has got to be the longest 14 minute video, not because it's boring but rather the amount of information packed into it, visually and audibly.
