Serial Killer Documentary: Gerald and Charlene Gallego (The Love Slaves Killers)

Published 2023-12-26
Gerald and Charlene kidnapped and killed ten people, mostly teenage girls, lured and captured in well-planned schemes, the ultimate goal of which was to provide a steady procession of disposable "love slaves." Depending on whose story you believe, Charlene Gallego was either a reluctant facilitator of or a willing participant in her husband Gerald's tragic extended binge. After the couple's apprehension, Charlene claimed that Gerald had beaten and intimidated her into helping him, but Gerald, for his part, insisted that she had taken part in the assaults and killings. "We had this sexual fantasy see, so we just carried it out," Charlene later recounted chillingly. "I mean, like it was easy and fun and we really enjoyed it, so why shouldn't we do it?"

  • She wasn't innocent either way. She had chances to leave and tell what he was. She's just as guilty.

I have always believed that Charlene was a willing participant. Her claims that she just lured the girls, then drove the van, watched TV, or went for a walk while he committed the SAs and murders never rang true to me. She absolutely minimized her involvement and I just don't buy it. I think she was every bit the psychotic, murdering, pervert that he was.

  • Wow, I lived in Sacramento for 17 years (not during the time specified) & had never heard of this case before. But I sure recognized many of the locations mentioned! Very interesting story.

Let me say thisā€¦I am Stacey Ann Redicanā€™s BEST-FRIEND and her only best friend and the author of All His Fatherā€™s Sins never interviewed the family or myself and what he wrote about her history is completely wrongā€¦absolutely 1000% wrong, her Sister Dawn can vouch for that fact. Stacey didnā€™t go to high school in Sacramento California whatsoever, she went to Reno High School; and her best friend was NOT Karen Chipman, the girl responsible for getting Stacey killed. Karen convinced Stacey to stay with her and her mother rather than come back home like she was supposed to and she wasā€¦The book The Encyclopedia of Serial Killers has her location of abduction wrong too. She was taken from the Sacramento Sunrise Mall not the mall in Reno Nevada. If there is a podcaster or writer whoā€™s serious about writing or doing a podcast about the real story of the victims lives and want to do Staceyā€™s, I would be honored to tell her lifeā€™s storyā€¦the short life she got to have. There isnā€™t a day that goes by that doesnā€™t have her in my thoughts nor has the hole in my heart ever healed, she and I were closer than our own sisters were to us. As a matter of fact yesterday April 19th was her Birthday she would have been 61. I love you ā€œTatterā€ forever and always in my heart ā¤ļø ā¤

Geeze, how did I miss this story. I lived in California my whole life and once lived near the Preston school for boys in Ione CA. And pass by the mental hospital in Vacaville on the way to visit family.
What a couple of sick vile psychopaths. Truly frightening. To think she's been free makes me sick!! They both will get theirs!!

I remember reading a book about it; she was just as culpable and lured the girls in. When it talked about their sexual reactions to what they were doing I got ill. I do remember laughing out loud cuz she tried to pull this older cowgirl like lady in and she told her to piss off! It was great.
