This is my old teenage metal band that I talk about once in a while in my vids. After showcasing some of our riffs I had many people ask if we'd ever get back together for anything. So here it is, an over 90 minute podcast! This was very fun to do and afterwards we had dinner and talked for 2 more hours. Unforgettable and hopefully interesting to anyone who knew us or even didn't know us. Sometimes it's just cool to listen to 4 old people reminisce about the "olden days." It's just that our olden days were, for us, "The Metal Years." ;)

  • I literally thought Mike was 28 at most all this time I've watched his videos I'm mind blown
  • Funny how Mike calls himself "old" in the description. Tell me the secret to your immortality

Mike will never age Also, as a gigging musician in Duluth who lived in Anoka prior, I'm realizing how spoiled I am to only have to drive across town for rehearsal. Anoka to Saint Paul sounds KILLER.
  • Well....shame on me for not following social media as much anymore! I would've totally vlogged, or wrote in sharing all that was, and still is great about Sanctus. Literally pivotal moments, and some of the most cherished years of my life were (3+ years give or take) experienced with you fine gentleman. 🤘❣️ I can still pick up a guitar and play SOME of "Enter Sandman" power chords, and all. Alan wouldn't of had it any.other way teaching me lol. Worth it! Smoke on the water of course, but like a 3 year old could play that so haha. Two things that hit me hard during the podcast; Cory mentioning when the nostalgia (lyrics) hit you remembering those years (age/hopes/dreams/experiences), and realizing you are no longer in reach of that younger perspective of life and won't have those experiences again 😥 (at least specifically). However, that's what makes them so genuine and personal. The other......closing my eyes and realizing Cory wins the "sounds exactly the same" award (tone/mannerisms everything lol) and that god damned charlie brown shirt 😂. You all look and sound so awesome.....what a ride. Thank you for sharing countless memories that still feel as real as they did 827 years ago. "I'm not crying....you are crying!!!!" ❣️ I'll try to be more mindful keeping up with future reunion podcasts/shows!!! I'm so proud of you all. #ridethelightning
  • When you guys were forced to change your name you should have called yourselves “The Band Formerly Known as Sanctus”

Finally made the time to catch up and watch this earlier today. It was so nice to listen to you all recount your memories and experiences from back then and seeing the video messages that were sent in. The whole thing was over so quickly, I'm pretty sure i'm not alone when I say i'd enjoy a part 2 to this :-)
  • Man. This really makes me think back to my jam days... Full nostalgia. Such a cool vid and a cool group of dudes, too

Thanks for making this great video. Art with synergy is undeniably very powerful. The synergy in your band is as good as it gets.

This was just fantastic. While it was great to listen to your stories it brought back hella-good memories for me as well. It makes me want to get together with my old bandmates and reminisce about our club days in Southern Mississippi in the late-80's/early 90's. We were a big part our local scene as well - very similar to your journey here. Thanks for this man!

Rewatching this every one of these songs are so awesome I would love it if the demos for these were released
  • @Tgroess
Great hearing your stories and reading through the comments. Love the passion. I missed out on all of this in high school... always working.
  • This is awesome!!! I've played in local bands since 85, I completely relate to all of this

It has been great listening to the pod cast with your old band mates it reminds me and similar stories of my own youth and band shenanigans from the same era just in Eastern Maine. This was great!
