Different style HW News! Pretty fun though, and a great way for us to get the last bit of show coverage up. We have 1 more product-related video from the show, then a bunch of discussions with other creators and engineers, the ASUS discussion, and the usual reviews coming up. Thanks for supporting us during our show coverage. Really fun this year and tons of great stuff coming out! There's NOTHING ASUS could say that would give me trust in the brand for the near future. They tried to get away with scamming everyone, got caught, and are now trying to market their way out of it. Nice try, no cigar.
  • Louis Rossman just did a video or 2 on Adobe changing their terms of service to take ownership of customers content and art with no option to not accept it. Essentially locking you out of software you paid for unless you agree to let them steal from you.

Power supply cables should be universal just like extension cables. There's nothing special about them why that wouldn't be possible. It's a bs proprietary plague and ewaste going on for years.

There are many monopolies in the tech space but one people don't often talk about is Adobe. A bit of antitrust action would be welcome in that area, too.

Asus isn't going to change. You don't go that far into the hole and change without outside pressure from a lawsuit or the government. They might make nice for a short time, but just go back to how bad they were. People should just stop doing business with them.
  • Sad to see AMD GPU's struggling. I upgraded from a 1080ti to a 7900XT, and I've been quite happy. Compared to the old days, their drivers have come far.

While I'm glad to see headway is made with ASUS, I'm in the gutted minority that they've locked the bootloader for my ZenFone 10. I know this is a PC channel, but us ASUS mobile phone owners would love to have your voice backing us, Steve. You and your team are absolute pinnacles in this sphere, and am waiting for more updates. ❤️🙏🏻
  • It's wild to see the US finally actually enforcing antitrust law after 20 years of not giving a crap. Just hope something comes out of it, though I'm pessimistic.

27:00 I feel like if you are going to call it a 'travel' case it needs to have an integrated handle. It's a good looking case though.

"Improvement to the 'Thermal' side of Thermaltake"... Lowkey jab implying the 'Take' side is already robust. Best thing I've heard all day!
  • @rockzors
Cant wait for the asus video update

Those heatsinks turning into EMI antennae is one of the most interesting things I've heard out of Computex this year. That's so cool and I'd love to hear more about how they designed the power supply around those issues.

Looks like it's unconscionably hot and humid in Taipei.

Steve isn't really a tech YouTuber, he's the pc enthusiasts biggest ambassador and lobbiest that documents his work on YouTube. Thanks Steve, as my toddlers would say, "you're a good guy"
  • @weeb4483
When you mentioned you made community posts about the asus stuff, it made me realize that youtube doesn't even show me community posts anymore.
  • @Unknown-sz8kg
Top of the line graphic cards used to cost 300-500$, not 1500-2000 as it is now.

The modular streamdeck/hub thing is neat, but then there was this: 'there's no local storage' That, on it's own, totally kills it for a lot of people. Because it implies you need to leave an app open in the background or have a driver loaded with settings in RAM for it to function. That's not something people are going to find fun. Especially if coolermaster's software, like so many others, winds up a windows only software. Add in the price point, and it's really sketchy that they apparently don't have local storage for profiles and portability without leaning on an active software.
  • I can't get over the simplicity being able to invert the 600 that way instead of 30-60 screws and sliding things in and out you just move the feet. That way if you move and want to still have the glass side facing you, then it's not going to mean tearing the system apart to do that flip.
