Faker has been the League of Legends GOAT for many years now.

So many, in fact, that people began to question whether it was time for him to make room for some younger talent.

But when an injury took Faker out of the competition, his team crumbled without him. So, with everything on the line, Faker returned to lead his young teammates to glory.

The wounded general had to take his team to Worlds.

im just happy he's still playing. everyone knows he's the best and will always be the best. he doesn't need to win worlds again to prove that.

Faker is T1. he is simply not the face but the very soul of the team
  • @AHFAN11
faker is really the glue that holds his team together. he may not always be the flashiest, or the best kda, but faker somehow is just so integral to his team that it literally falls apart without him.
  • @WhyOrem
At this point i just really don't understand how anyone can doubt faker after all these years
  • @loafersbread
T1 Went from barely surviving during LCK Summer To Convincingly DUMPSTERING China's 2nd Best team on Worlds If that doesnt show Faker's effect on the team then I dont know what would
  • Games without faker showshis true value to the team. - vet experience - map pressure - map control - Leadership - no quiet comms

8:44 The way Guma and Keria looked at Faker's hand in concerned faces is so heartwarming to me.
  • @Soulranger92
The look Gumayushi gives Faker at 8:49 is everything. Clear respect and reverence for him. He stood strong when everyone else was struggling, and recognized his impact now that Faker is back.

When the young players stepped up, people really started to say that Faker is getting carried. However, you have to remember that this is a team game and experience shines. This was the perfect example that in any kind of sport, the veteran does bring another level of depth to a team, and their value cannot be measured by statistics.

Aside from Faker's skill and experience, you can see how happy the rest of the team is with him. Zeus, Oner, Guma, and Keria were barely suppressing their smiles and stealing glances at him when he returned to the line-up. Four of them were fighting for their lives against each other during warm-ups while Faker was skipping around peeking at monsters and the kids were indulging him. In their game against LSB, Faker keeps getting killed and he was playfully groaning about why it always happens to him while the team were laughing, screaming, and scrambling to protect him while assuring Faker that the game isn't over yet.

Faker was not holding T1 back, he was holding the team together. Heck even Bengi "stepped down" because he can't handle the heat of Faker's absence. If anything, Faker's return and dragging his team to playoff finals only solidified his legacy and GOAT status.

This is just a different T1.. even I can't believe how lost T1 is without Faker.. Poby wasn't even horrible.. just eh.. he did what you expect him to do.. worst mid in the LCK.. still very raw.. but not so helpless.. but the other players look so different.. even Keria is fumbling so hard and ints like he's playing Yasuo in Gold.. it's so weird.. it's like everyone in the team went down to Poby's level when they should've been able to compensate for Poby's lack of experience.. it's so weird..
  • @hinro
Keria started playing like a tilted hylisang when faker wasn't there. It was so odd to see him like that since he is quite possibly the best player on the team. He enables everyone and he just looked lost.
  • I think Faker doesn't only hold the glue together for T1, but for the entire LoL esports, I know that the viewership will significantly drop if he retires. He's not only the face of T1 but the sport in general.

10 years ago, I saw a recommend video of a young player wearing red. I don't know League of Legends back then. I clicked and literally made me follow all his tournaments. I tried learning about the league cause I like his playstyle. Been through ups and downs of SKT & T1. From the time of Marin to Zeus. It's Faker who brought me to the league. Much like how Kobe made me love basketball until he retired. I'll do the same.

Imgine having someone as legendary as Faker on your team telling you to focus and keep calm, we can win He brings so much to the team, not just in mechanics
  • @sasa-jx5xp
