The Coming of the Kingdom with Power

What did Jesus mean when He told the disciples that some of them would not die until they saw the kingdom of God coming in power? As he continues his exposition of the gospel of Mark, R.C. Sproul wrestles with this challenging prediction.

This sermon was preached by R.C. Sproul at Saint Andrew's Chapel in Sanford, Fla. Hear more from his series in the gospel of Mark:    • The Gospel of Mark: Sermons by R.C. S...

Amen Sproul. What a glorious day that will be when our Lord Jesus returns. May we make disciples of all nations, giving Him the glory forevermore. God bless you all.

I had thought it was most likely that Jesus was referring to the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, rather than the transfiguration or the resurrection, but again came up against the same issue as R.C. mentioned in none of them dying at that point. The suggestion he makes about the temple is an interesting one.

Not urged to guess yet it's for St John to confirm whether his Revelation proved eldest plus 100AD.
  • Thought that prophecy refered to John in the book of revelation..I am confused now
