I was watching this video with my mom (who is an architect) and she commented on how similar this puzzle is to traditional Korean houses. Before nails, early koreans used puzzle mechanisms to build houses. Some houses featured moving parts that interlocked to make tight and safe houses. I think you could find this interesting

That was one of the most interesting puzzles I have ever seen.

Thats actually pretty cool having a guest on here. I'm very happy his video quality wasn't much worse than yours so it worked very well.

I'm probably like a lot of people who found this channel and had no idea how intricate and customized these puzzles are out there. It's fascinating to see the craftsmanship in designs like this. Geometer John mentioned that it was $500 at the time it was made - I'm assuming only a handful were ever made then?

How people figure these bananas puzzles out is baffling to me.

Hey FLEB - My desk at work is filled with puzzles I have collected over the years and it has been a source of entertainment and frustration for my coworkers. This channel is the only one I have ever subscribed to - thank you for providing such interesting an entertaining content!
  • It looks like that missing piece is actually supposed to be centered by rotating both the left and right latches catches at the same time to center the missing piece. If that is the case, it shouldn't matter that it is tight enough not to slide by itself into position, and the fact that it is tight is a design feature. try testing this after the box is solved to get it in correct position.

I love your puzzle videos and I just wanted to say thank you. Also, John was worried about the humidity making that mechanism not move freely, but if he puts a few silica gel packets inside, it should absorb any trapped humidity and prevent any issues.Just a suggestion :)

I like that you posted a solution video to this puzzle. A lot of these high-end puzzle boxes are quite expensive and you need to be in the right place at the right time to get them. Short of growing a money tree I would never have the opportunity to handle them. It's nice to be able to see how they are solved.

I just watched all of your videos, and coming from the Hanayama Cast Box to this one, you can tell you are much more comfortable speaking in front of the camera. Keep up the great work!

It makes me really happy to see your channel becoming so popular. People should be puzzling more in their lives, and this is a great way to reel people in. Thanks for doing what you're doing.

Omg the fleb face reveal! Awesome to see guest content, I love how you present things and if there are more creators who do videos in the same style I'd be really excited to see more as well!

This is like if Chris Nolan and Nick Offerman collaborated. It's cool as hell.
