Very helpful information. I've used pregnenolone before with no ill effects, until yesterday. Looking back on the events of the day, it makes a lot of sense now.
  • I have been using pregnenolone for over 30 years. I started after 35. As the body ages, the amount of pregnenolone declines as your cholesterol increases. The likelihood that such a person is declined, in pregnenolone is very likely. The levels of cholesterol will fall with the supplementation with pregnenolone as it starts up hormone pathways. My blood chemistry seems almost to be text book. Pregnenolone was the drug of choice for curing arthritis. The hormones mend damaged tissue, and arthritis is a factor of daily life impacting accumulated damage to tissues that require for more resources than are available to the body. Pregnenolone helps to balance hormones and repair tissue damage.

Thanks for this info. I tested my levels and my DHEA was 76 and my Pregnenolone was 67. I been on DHEA 25mg aday for a couple of months so my recent labs show it at 143. After reading more on Pregnenolone I just started with 10mg a day with the DHEA. Got to say its only been the second day but I feel alot better. I'm 59yrs old and been lifting weights 4 days a week for the last 28 yrs. I think my functional Dr also found my cortisol high. I was thinking that I may be experiencing the Pregnenolone steal so thats why I started the supplement. Ill see how I feel and check my levels again in January.

This was very helpful. I was already wondering why I felt so strange and worse than before. Now I know my body converted it right into cortisol.
  • I have ADHD perhaps some Autism & Dysgraphia which is a related Motor disorder. In now 54 years found out at 38 years by a practicing Psychiatrist. I had tried various things over time.( Stimulants dont work ) I had heard that supplementing with Pregnenolone assists with ADHD. After one month my mood is a lot better & my Reading is more controlled I also found it helps with my creative writing as a song writer. I had a problem with Fear, so this has also been reduced. I had not consulted my General Practitioner Doctor that im taking this supplement which i suppose i should of had, however sometimes you have to go with your gut feelings & your own findings. I also have a Fatty Liver & are overweight so this i read this may also help. As far as im aware my Blood levels are okay however my last Report was i may be exposed to Diabetes type 2 which explains my pregnant looking belly. Im now on a low carb diet. This explains the fatigue. I found that there's been no increase in my energy or sex drive after 30 days on Pregnenolone. Im not sure if im feeling is what called the Placebo effect or what. I now are trialing NAC which seems to be not as stimulating as pregnelone . It works on memory management- libido - metabolism
  • Thanks you for the fascinating presentation. What is the enzyme that is glucose dependent which is necessary to convert cholesterol into pregnenolone. You started to talk about its importance but then you stopped.

I'd love to do a study on hormone conversion with people who have suffered childhood trauma and people who have not. It seems my body has a conversion problem with most hormones. I have suffered childhood trauma and physical abuse. COULD IT BE POSSIBLE MY BODY HAS LEARNED TO CONVERT TO CORTISOL due to being in prolonged stress?
  • Bloodwork? Nah I started taking it at 46 a few weeks ago for mood and and amxeity and noticed it also helepd with nutrient distribution. Its helping me gain weight and muscle as I need it after 2 serious injuries. I have not felt or looked better in my adult life.

This is me. I get very wired and extremely irritated. But my body pain goes way down. But it’s not doable. Even a few mg doses it. Sucks. My levels are below the testing threshold too. I’m on testosterone with no issues.

Hi Dr. How will alcohol interact with pregnant one? Also, can Ashwaganda counteract the increased feelings of anxiety?
  • I’ve taken a tiny amount (like 3mg bcuz I’m very sensitive to supplements and side effects) of Pregnenolone twice now and it made me feel great mentally. I could think clearer/mental clarity and good mood. But it gave me mild chest pains, and achy muscles. Should I be concerned or is that maybe a normal minor side effect when you start it? Also, how long does it take for Pregnenolone to get out of your system? Thanks 🤗

I am taking Pregnenolone, it makes me sleepy. Should I take it at night?

Thank you for the video! A couple follow-up questions. Do you have any insight as to why I tend to get heart palpitations while supplementing pregnenolone (25mg daily, AM)? It also causes mild tension headaches. However, the benefits are fantastic (energy, cognition, mood). I want to make sure it is safe for me to continue taking. One additional question - can pregnenolone be supplemented less frequently than daily, or does it have too short of a half life? Thank tou!

@AskCurtis Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰. Very nice video and explanation. I have been suffering from burnout and stress and I have low cortisol in the morning and my testosterone is on the low side. I’m 40 years old and my clinic prescribed me Pregnenolone 50 mg and DHEA 25 mg. After 1 year my DHEA levels are high but Pregnenolone is low. Yet I still feel fatigued from time to time and still struggle with anxiety that came after my burnout. I have been living really healthy for the last many many years. Eating organic and quality food avoiding gluten and lactose and have done a tone to keep the inflammation down as the clinics thinks it could be due to inflammation but I doubt that. I was thinking if a DNA test could determine if there is something wrong in the conversion from cholesterol to Pregnenolone? My cholesterol levels are a bit above average so I should have plenty of that for conversion. Looking forward to your advice because I’ve spent enormous amounts of time and money trying to get rid of fatigue and anxiety and live a normal life.
