P!nk's "Glitter in the Air" performance never fails to strike me even after the countless times I've watched it here on YouTube. It's powerful artistically, but the story behind it is even better: P!nk went on Ellen the day after that performance and she spoke candidly about how she'd never really felt the industry had taken her seriously over the years, as though many of them looked down their nose at her. Watching it with that in your mind lets you see it from an entirely different perspective. It's almost as though she were giving everyone the middle finger when she spun high above them and showered their tuxedos and designer gowns with water. That aside, nobody there in the theatre or watching it on television that night could argue her performance was anything short of breathtaking. P!nk nailed the live vocals while dangling upside down and ended it with a dramatic descent back to the floor in a pose that seemed almost Christlike. She then took a defiant bow, as though she felt she'd finally proven herself. She certainly did.

It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World performance tribute to James Brown by Christina Aguilera is one of the best live performances of all time in Grammy. The iconic shout to give respect to James Brown, the range, lows, chesty notes, falsetto, distortion of Xtina’s voice is insane. Plus you can never ignore her superior stage presence. She killed that performance and will be forever iconic in the history of Grammy Award shows ever.

Just knew that MJ's 1988 Grammy perf would top the list. It was broadcast from Radio City Music Hall that night. The King of Pop's ultimate showstopper made it an incredible night for music fans.

P!nk just puts on such an awesome show. She is phenomenal in all ways!
  • "Michael Jackson: The Way You Make Me Feel/Man In The Mirror", the number one Most Amazing Grammy Performance of All Time and that takes the cake
  • I am so glad that majority of the bests is still the old 90s and the early 2000s. The Mtv and Vh1 were the only channels we could watch the music. Back then Grammy Award show was something we would look forward to. Feeling nostalgic!
  • Christina Aguilera's it's a Man Man's World is phenomenal and we will never forget.
  • MJ'S performance at the 1988 Grammies gives me chills, everytime I see it 🤘💯💜
  • Aretha Franklin stepping in at the last minute for Luciano Pavarotti to perform "Nessun Dorma".
  • Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart” in the 1984 Grammy’s was one of the most impressive performances I remember!

Not only did MJ revolutionise the Super Bowl performances, but the Grammys too. The music scene. Pop music. Music videos. He truly paved the way for many artists (especially black artists) today, as their careers wouldn’t be the same without him.

I really thought Melissa Etheridge and Joss Stone's Janis Joplin tribute was gonna be in there. I would put it at #3 or 4 behind #1 Michael Jackson (no contest at #1), Whitney, and the Eminem/Elton performance.

Christina Aguilera's performance is iconic! I know a lot of people say it was forced and she oversung, but I thought she did outstanding. Her voice was also in its prime 👍👍👍
  • @tomwhited6443
YES!! If Michael's '88 performance wasn't #1 I was gonna be seriously pissed!!!
  • @LuCKyDuCKy881
My favorite was “Lady Marmalade” from “Moulin Rouge”. Was amazing singers and just a GREAT performance imho
  • @dazem8
Whitney sings so effortlessly. What a legend.
  • @joejoe5673
Christina Aguilera is so underrated, I can't even deal!!!
  • @Recubs0608
Personally, Pink's performance should be in top 3.
