As an autistic person, I really like the art and you generally seem well meaning and well informed. However the puzzle piece isn't really a symbol we use for ourselves. Its more been a tool used to stigmatize and belittle us by people who claim to want to help but don't listen to a word we have to say. We actually have been using a infinity symbol. Thanks for listening and keep up the awesome art!

I love that you're asking people to give us a chance but it's definitely a disability and saying it isn't makes it harder for us to be taken seriously, especially for those of us who can mask really well.
  • @SavagekiwiOMG
that makes me feel that I won't get judged by another person other than my family and a couple of good friends, thanks so much! ♥️

as a disabled person, i hate when people call disabilities "different abilities." im disabled. i cannot do things like you can. please just fucking acknowledge that instead of glorifying disabilities and how hard it actually is to live with one.

I was watching this and when I saw the puzzle piece I was like "oh no— people are not going to like that" and immediately checked the comments
  • I have Autism, and honestly, I can confirm this. I’m gonna be moving away after summer, so I’ll probably only see my best friends face-to-face two times a year or so. Growing up was always really hard, I was always the outsider, and none of my teachers believed that I had Autism at first, they just thought I was stupid, or an outcast. Now I’m eleven, and I’m suffering from both Depression and Anxiety. Respect man, respect.

My mom and I are trying to get me tested for autism and it's taken almost 3 years now (I went to my neurologist and she recommended that I get tested, and my mom send out a form the same year, and now I'm going to turn 17 in less than 2 days now, and still nothing yet.) My mom, my sister, some of my doctors, my councillor, and even I are pretty sure I am I'm the spectrum. Anyways, this legit brought me to tears! I just remembered that I've seen a few of your videos before too and they were AMAZING as well!! Keep it up!!! 🤗👥💖

As an autistic person this warmed my heart. Thank you. The only thing is the puzzle piece isn’t the best symbol of autism because companies who prey on autistic people use that, but the art is beautiful and I love your commentary, thank you.
  • Your hearts in the right place. The comment section has already explain to you why the puzzle piece is problematic. But also autism can be a disability. Many of us need support and accommodations to live life to the fullest. There’s nothing wrong with that.
  • As an autistic and ADHD person٫ I find it very touching that you're raising awareness about it through art. Thank you for your work٫ and keep making great art!

Thank you. I'm Autistic and so is my son. We have the best time together because I understand him completely. We are very silly and we get looks from others because I'm not acting like a normal mother. But I don't care, this kid is one of the sweetest and smartest people I know and deserves a childhood full of run and rainbows! 🌈🌈🌈

I loved this… Then I saw the puzzle piece
  • @neonfo8212
Thank you for this wonderful explanation and beautiful art. Still though, isn’t the puzzle piece disliked by many autistic people?
  • @Kin_fe
I am autistic and yes that piano statement is very true (I pick up an instrument and immediately become good at it)
  • As a person on the spectrum I love making art being it can helps me learn how to focus and I just love creating it
  • As an autistic person, autism isn’t a “different ability”. It is a disability. Even though I do value all the good things it’s given me, but it’s made it really challenging to do so many things because of the world we live in. (Definitely not an illness though, absolutely right) And as many people have probably said, we prefer the rainbow infinity sign to the puzzle piece because that’s the symbol for autism speaks, who were trying to do eugenics, so not good. But overall, this is a really pretty picture, so thank you for showing your support!
  • I am autistic and I like this a lot. There is one thing that is inaccurate, autism is a disability, a mental disability. I find life and ordinary things a lot harder than they actually are. I have exams in a week and I can't motivate myself to get up in the morning and to study in the afternoon.
