The Insane Science of Neutron Stars [4K]

In the late 1960s, a series of anomalous, repeating radio sources began cropping up all over the Milky Way galaxy, and though initially speculated to be messages from aliens, we soon learned that they are Pulsars, a rapidly rotating neutron star emitting high volumes of radiation. In this video, we will revisit these extreme, dense objects, as the final gateway faced by matter before it collapses into a black hole. This is the insane science of neutron stars.

YouTube is littered with videos about neutron stars and their variants, but only SEA can has the production quality necessary to adequately portray the utter lunacy that these stellar objects are.

One time an uber driver picked me up from the airport in Arizona and we talked about how you were the best space channel out there! Guess what? 2 years later it’s still true! Thanks for the content, it’s truly amazing!
  • @malectric
Best talk about neutron stars I've seen to date - by a country mile. Mind-blowing to say the least.
  • A Sea video on a Sunday??? And it's neutron stars??? I can already feel my depression lifting. Thank you, sir! 🙏🏼
  • @verhuzz
These are my most anticipated videos on YouTube.

16:52 “Ungodly” is the only correct way to describe Magnetars. They are leagues beyond casual compression.
  • There is something unnerving, yet marvelous, about the sound of that pulsar at the end of the video; Like the heartbeat of a gigantic monster lurking in the darkness of Space, just waiting to pounce and rip you to pieces in its tremendous magnetic field or gravitational pull (if the gamma or X-rays doesn't get you first). Neutron stars are truely some of the most terrifying and fascinating objects in the Universe! Great video, as always.

Got a bowl packed, AirPods on noise cancellation, and I’m ready to go!🧑‍🚀

My favourite channel on YouTube. It's refreshing to find well-made, factual videos without click-bait, fake science or A.I voice over. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing your content.
  • @sephestra.
Your videos are simultaneously fascinating, informative, and terrifying. I look forward to revisiting this on my SEA playlist many times.
  • I'm always up for a nice plate of nuclear pasta. Thanks for the great content, as always!

I remember you creating a poll about topics that interest us and this won. Thanks for listening to your community!
  • Fruity Pebbles, Cold Water, favorite pillow, wife and 3 year old sleeping. Ahhhh Bedtime and a new SEA Video. This is truly a state of Zen and Serenity!!!

Among all the scary things in the vastness of the cosmos, pulsars are the most terrifying to me personally. The sheer energy of that incredibly deadly celestial body and it's huge influence on it's surroundings, which you are absolutely powerless against, is mind numbing. EDIT: The only thing scarier than pulsars, to me personally, is of course quasar.
