CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Sweeney (Johnny Depp) and Anthony (Jamie Campbell Bower) sing about Johanna as Sweeney cuts the throats of customers.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
Stephen Sondheim's award-winning musical thriller comes to the big screen in this adaptation directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Timothy Spall, and Alan Rickman. Embittered at having been wrongly imprisoned and determined to seek vengeance against his accusers due to the grim fate that befell his wife and daughter while he was incarcerated, ex-convict Sweeny Todd (Depp) returns to his hometown and opens a modest barber shop. The one thing different about Todd's shop, however, is that no one who walks in for a trim is ever seen again. Subsequently branded "The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" by the frightened community, Todd continues with his murderous exploits with a little assistance from his amorous accomplice, Mrs. Lovett (Bonham Carter) -- whose popular meat pies secretly have a most unsavory ingredient.

If you want a safe shave from Sweeney Todd; Bring your family.

1:15 is one of the many scenes that gets me in how the man getting a shave with his wife and daughter present and is what keeps him from being killed but also how I think for a brief moment Sweeny thinks back to the life he could have had and the way he turns his back on that notion.

Depp's singing voice is beautiful, flawless, and fits perfectly with the songs. He sings with honesty, and as the producers said; he makes the song sound like they've never sounded before. My favorite part; 1:34 - 1:55

I love that in a way, he's still merciful by letting that man live. I saw it as a reflection of himself and his family. He didn't want to leave a little girl fatherless and a wife widowed. They mostly picked up people that wouldn't be missed or that anyone cared for, anyway. Love this song :) <3

Imagine him singing about his daughter and almost killing her at the end. And she not knowing that the man who nearly killed her was her father!

To me, it looks more painful when they fall through the hole with a thump!😖

Just saw this last night, did not expect it to be as brutal as it was, but I can honestly say this was one of Tim Burton's best films. Incredibly memorable movie. If it hadn't been a musical, it would have been almost too disturbing in every way.
