Have you ever heard of stars that explode every 80 years and still don't die? We are about to witness a unique space explosion that is visible from everywhere! Unlike a supernova, in which stars burn up completely in a gigantic firework display, an old star can also produce so-called nova explosions. The spectacle is similarly worth seeing - and we don't just see it once, but again and again. A nova in the Corona Borealis system is about to explode and we are excited to see it!

So, what we say occurred in 1946 actually occurred in 1054 BC...the scope of this is truly humbling.

I do have a question. Most nova create a nebula. Why doesn't this one? Or is it only supernova that does that? Idk.

3000 light years away...how long does it take that explosive light to travel to us after it explodes?

Did anyone else get the gross Trump grift ad at the beginning?
