Published 2023-07-21
Bunker Hill Day has been celebrated in Charlestown, Massachusetts, since 1786, to remember the first major battle of the American Revolution. The Battle of Bunker Hill was fought on Breed’s Hill on June 17, 1775, in Charlestown. To commemorate this historical event, a parade is held on the Sunday before, or on, June 17, in downtown Charlestown. The parade includes local marching bands and other musical groups, current and past military personnel, re-enactment groups, sports teams, fire trucks, police motorcycles, and floats. There are also battle re-enactments."
