Joaquin really didn’t give a single f. about the oscar, he just wanted to share his message.
  • Walks up without a smile. Doesn’t thank anyone for anything. Tells everyone how fcked up the world is nowadays and that all should change for better. Walks out. This man is a legend.

He gave a voice to the voiceless and a face to mental health in Joker. Bravo Joaquin! Well done.

I expected this guy to be radiating confidence, but he’s actually a bit shy and awkward. He’s so real.

This man looks like he didnt want to go to the oscars but his agency wanted him to
  • Genuinely think this might be the greatest Oscar award speech ever. He didn't talk about the film or role or even himself, but left all ego aside and just straight up told everyone that the world is horrible and we can all do better and change it to help everyone. Especially directed at the Academy/celebs where everyone is rich and powerful and can directly control/influence a better society - just literally telling them all to do something to help cos he knows they can. What an absolute goat.

This actually feels like a DELETED scene from the film...

This was the greatest acting in a movie I've ever seen. No one deserved this more.
  • If there's an award for brutal honesty, this man deserves that as well.

Lets be honest, when the camera went to Jonathan Pryce's face, we all looked at Keanu Reeves.

His speech proved that he was the right person to play the Joker!
  • @invasion1824
Keanu definitely felt that of what Joaquin said about his brother 💔
  • @Elfrontu_1972
“Run to the rescue with love, and peace will follow” wow! 😢😢😢

Wins Oscar. Talks about Animal rights, Environment and humanity. That’s Joaquin Phoenix for you

“It’s not about winning an Oscar, It’s about sending a message”
  • @ritik61616
Instead of using his popularity to complete his own interests...he chose to using his popularity for spreading the right message to the world... That's really good example he set 🙏

Joaquin seems so down to earth, you can tell that he still has a hard time talking about his brother. the best thing is that not only did we get to see one Phoenix brother win an Oscar we got to see how acting has changed the life of this family.
