  • They find such a great balance between biting satire and genuine love of the city
  • @carbilicon
This is what Portland was like in the old hipster days. Well done.

9:22 the look of confused betrayal on Fred's face as Carrie embraces the menu chaos
  • It's clear Kumail Najiani was destined to make it big....I bet half his lines are improvised and the skits aren't supposed to go as long as they do....the cell phone guy from season one is also hilarious.... I love that Fred is super dismissive and wants to just get on with the cell phone purchase or the food order and Carrie always gives in to the other options and Kumail compliments her choices..... Absolute comedy gold

i would love to see a compilation of portlandia sound effects.. the bonks and squeaks when they move their glasses, or the giggles that sound like babies lmbo... i love every detail of this style of humor. i remember when fred came to snl.. i was 23. JAIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favourite skit ever is Battle Star Galactica, simply because of Carrie's scream. 😆 I just friggin love this show. I've watched many of times back to back. Now I'm able to enjoy my lazy work days

I was one of the gutter punks 20yrs ago. Life has changed. That life did get depressing sometimes but was also the most free I've ever felt and probably most fun I've had when it was fun. Lived in Austin Texas too. My two favorite cities back then, Portland and Austin. I was way too nice to stay living that way though, was getting eaten alive by the more sociopathic types so stopped doing it. It got lonely but when I found a partner it was great

Boy, if only we understood the Fred and Carrie were both prophetic, and trying to warn us. It's crazy.

The fact that they used children’s laughter for a adult woman, has never, and will never leave my mind.

The “ around the world in 80 plates” w Kumail , might literally be the FUNNIEST comedy sketch along w maybe some The Office stuff… it’s brilliant , zany satirical , almost relatable situations.. I literally always belly laugh during that scene.. amazing writing here

The Battlestar Galactica marathon is what really got me into this show.
  • @WEOFFNDR
The way she pronounced s/he literally killed me 😂
  • @tpholharath
I love how Fred is trying not to laugh or break character in the restaurant skit with Kumail 😆

"Dear Kath, We never decided (at least I think), what "A-O River!" means. Forgive me, but, you know, you've forgiven me before for not getting it right. At least we had a good time. This was really life-changing. -Hopefully I'll see you in the near future. Yours, Dave "King River" Haha, you know what I mean"

This was the funniest shows of all time. It's spot on in it's parody of urban progressives and white upperclass behavior, passive aggressive cruelty ect.

Portlandia is a goated show...first thing I ever saw on Netflix
