Yi Long is actually not a Shaolin Monk as they went out of their way to say he wasn't. A spokesman of the Shaolin Temple did a press release pretty much saying he was full of it. That being said I am pretty sure he has been trained in Kungfu, just not by them.

Yi Long is NOT a Shoalin monk. How do you people even have a job?
-
It is rumored that Long Duck Dong threatened to kick both their asses if they didn't stop it.
-
No fighting style is superior, it's the fighter who uses it and how good he "reads" his opponent.
-
This was Waaay better than the other video you posted about Kung Fu
-
What an amazing AI video using fight clips from others. Outstanding quality.

No elbows and no clinching = no Muay Thai. Seen many gyms who claim to be Muay Thai gyms, but don't practice any elbowing or clinching at which point it's just another half-assed kickboxing gym, just like that match against Buakaw was not a Muay Thai match.
-
Yi Long use the Shaolin Monk appearance as a gimmick, like in the WWE. No Kung Fu seen, more bad kick boxing.
-
People should always remember it really isn't about the martial art, it is about the person
-
They all know how to fight so this is entertaining
-
These Muay Thai x Kung Fu clashes are extremely cool, two though and full body conditioning martial arts, respect to those guys
-
Whoever has more training and experience in full contact combat sports
-
The flag on the ref's sleeve is enough to know the winner lmao.
-
Yi Long is not a Shaolin monk and is not even using any kung fu.
-
Looks like he's also a kickboxer... Odd to say he's shaolin when he doesn't use their techniques.
-
Two things 1. Everyone is different, meaning everyone can develop differently in the same martial art. 2. They're in a controlled setting (sports ring with rules)
-
That wing chun monk had the Triad betting on him! 🤑
-
Yi Long never be Shaolin monk, He was overhyped for marketing purposes. Anyway his iron shin was no joke. He endured twice of Sittichai's head kick . WTH
-
The problem is, gloves limit what one can do with Kung Fu. Muai Thai uses closed fists, so gloves aren't much of a hindrance other than weight.
-
its not kung fu. They have boxing gloves on and anti kung fu rules.
