I just moved back to my rural hometown to batten down. I hated growing up here but theres nowhere I'd rather be for the apocalpyse. My 95 yo gramma cant believe some of us want to live like she did growing up. Nowadays in the summer there are no teens out cruising blaring music, there are no kids playing out in the street or riding bike. Its a different world.

What you described in the beginning is a tactic called moving the goal post. Basically, you set the terms of the debate (the goal posts). Then when you score, having won the argument, they move the goal posts so you need another argument to be the winner. Its straight up malicious bad faith
