Block 36 is a ton of fun! Glad 2b2t is getting to finally enjoy it. The ender crystal, fire, piston method was actually invented by a friend and myself several years ago. The properties of block do change in newer versions.

to clarify, this block actually exists in the code, its not a bug and it was intentionally made as a temp in the code to make pistons work, the id of the block is minecraft:moving_piston, the only bug here is how you can obtain one in survival, which of course its not supposed to happen, it has the properties of a non-full block and cannot be waterlogged in 1.13+ which basically makes the block act like barrier in some cases

I won’t be surprised if I see a video named, “How 2B2T players accidentally killed the president and nuked Russia”.

The name of this "Block 36" it's actually "Moving Piston", and they just appear to a fraction of a second when you extends the piston, the animation of extension and retraction from the piston happens on it, but it can't be mined. On the older minecraft versions it was called "minecraft:piston_extension"
