#Loblaw boycott community announces "indefinite" extension to movement

The online community that started a boycott of stores owned by Canadian grocery giant Loblaw has shared that it’s extending the boycott “indefinitely.”

“In a decisive move, the community members of the movement to boycott Loblaw and its affiliates have voted overwhelmingly to extend their boycott indefinitely. Following a recent poll, a majority of the community expressed their support for continuing the boycott against Loblaw, citing ongoing dissatisfaction with the skyrocketing cost of groceries,” said the boycott organizers in a statement emailed to Daily Hive on Tuesday morning.

  • for a couple years now I was only buying things that are on sale unless it's a necessity, I'm still doing it, just now I do it at smaller locally owned (non major grocer) all major grocers should be included

    Odd that it's still going on only against Loblaws even though they agreed to sign, while Walmart and Costco still refuse. Seems like there's something behind the scenes driving this. Wonder if Jagmeet's brother knows anything about that
