I Spoke Before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee

Hi all: going over five minutes was my error. I was called to testify very shortly before the event, wrote what I had to say early that morning, and underestimated the time it would take to state my piece. My fault entirely and the congressman was well within his rights to call me to task.

DARPA's LifeLog (part of the Dept of Defense) program was built to do the following according to Wikipedia. "an ontology-based (sub)system that captures, stores, and makes accessible the flow of one person's experience in and interactions with the world in order to support a broad spectrum of associates/assistants and other system capabilities". The objective of the LifeLog concept was "to be able to trace the 'threads' of an individual's life in terms of events, states, and relationships", and it has the ability to "take in all of a subject's experience, from phone numbers dialed and e-mail messages viewed to every breath taken, step made and place gone". It was shut down in Feb 2004 due to fierce public outcry, also in Feb 2004 Facebook was established doing the same thing. Coincidence?

The questions that were asked by some of the committee members illustrated their unwillingness to listen or lack of understanding. As usual Dr. Peterson's words were over their heads.
