Sonic is the equivalent of that one kid who never shows up to work on the group project but somehow manages to present the entire thing like a boss
-
The best feeling is when 2 groups of characters meet up and now the group is even bigger than before

47:55 best moment in the whole thing. Dedede doesn't do any of the 'villain begrudgingly works with the hero' stuff, he just straight up tackle hugs Kirby and drags him off to go save the world. What a guy

I love when Samus saves Pikachu. She didn't have to, and it would have given her location up but she saw someone suffering and had to help. It says a lot about her character.

This is what Smash needs more of. I will never understand why they moved away from this kind of story mode in Smash. Every character is full of personality despite never speaking, the introduction shots are iconic, there are hints at a deeper lore to the Smash universe. Everyone starts off acting like they do in their regular game series doing their own thing, but quickly get drawn into this big end of the world plot and slowly team up until finally you have every character working together. The idea of everyone turning into a trophy when defeated that can only be revived by another fighter is genius. It's perfect. As a kid I didn't know who some of these characters were but because of the way they were all given good moments in the story I liked them anyway

The best part of this? Even if you have no clue who these people are, you can still get a general idea of their personality, goals, rivals and motives, simply by watching this. Great all around.

14:55 Luigi's cutscene will always be my favorite in the entire game, no matter what. That variation of the Luigi's Mansion theme in the background just makes it...perfect.

R.O.B had one of the best introductions and developments, look what the dude went through before his reveal, it’s hinted at early enough to get you wondering all until that moment you are finally able to play as him. It’s glorious

My favorite part about this story is that it does a fantastic job of personifying certain aspects of heroism and villainy. The heroes exemplify virtues such as teamwork, fortitude, willpower, and forgiveness. The villains exemplify vices such as deception, greed, and betrayal. All of that without a single word of dialogue. Really impressive work.

48:08 is still one of my favorite parts. Having Link, Zelda, and Ganon all setting aside their timeless battle against one another to battle a shared enemy is really kind of amazing.

can we all appreciate that a nintendo rival literally saved the whole smash universe

I realize it makes no sense for all of these characters to exist in the same universe but it is still so cool even today. The dark and dreary settings for the beginning, The crazy spectacle fighting cutscenes, the amazing music. I miss the smash world that was like this. I still like the world of light but the cutscenes really helped this game out.

I love that the one and only line in the entire game is “Kept you waiting, huh?” 34:58
-
I love how Lucas is all like “my friend just died” and the Pokémon trainer is just like “cool let’s get a charizard tho”
-
16:48 I love how nonchalant Link is. Like seeing a sleeping dinosaur is just an average Tuesday for him.
-
14:38 Ike’s entrance is so incredibly epic.
-
Popular Opinion: By far, this was the best story mode in Smash history
-
49:14 For the Fastest thing alive it sure took your sweet ass time getting here.

One of my favorite things about this game was Peach just giving half the time. Giggling at how serious Shiek was, walking along the firing guns, offering tea, fixing her dress before the boss fight when everyone was ready to fight

King Dedede seeming like a villain but ending up as a hero is so in-character
