A squirrel named Shirley moves in on the bird feeder and a physicist dreams up new ways to foil her. A rotating shield initially blocks her, but with each physicist’s innovatrion, Shirley uses her squirrel brain amd powerful ability to climb, balance and juimp to solve the problem and munch on the bird seeds. Along the way are some spectacular fails and amazing successes for this wild animal. These Fox Squirrel imported from the East Coast are admirable and irritating adveraries for sure.

The Squirrel VS. the Physicist - sounds like an epic battle story. I love how the Squirrel waves its tail and glares at you: I'll show you hooman!

Claude: "Surely, you can't be serious." Squirrel: "I am serious. And don't call me Shirley."

This is much more enjoyable than anything Disney has put out in recent years.

The squirrels just think you're crazy inventing carnival rides for them

"I can rename this contraption a squirrel feeder" Hahahaha that one cracked me up. That is accepting ones loss with grace :D

This reminds me of similar experience I had a few years ago. After failing many times, my last attempt was to sit in a lawn chair nearby with a garden hose, and patiently wait for squirrel attempts. I forgot how most of this episode went except for the last thing. As I sat silently by, like a statue, a small young squirrel slowly walked closely by my chair toward the feeder. Then an older and much wiser squirrel ran right up to him and chirped something in his ear, which caused him to look over at me. It scared him so much, he jumped straight up in the air and ran off. I think this proves they have a language all their own.

This was a great watch. As an engineer myself, I hope to live long enough to become this happy. To finally have finished the work I must do, and maybe still be alive to do anything I want to do. I'm happy that you've gotten there.

I knew the physicist was not going to win when I heard he named her Shirley.

Apparently Shirley has been foiling your attempts for a while - that's one fat little squirrel. The lesson I take from Shirley is no problem is too great to solve if you approach it with creativity and patience. Good for Shirley, she deserves her own bag of peanuts.

You could see in the squirrels eyes everytime she looks at the camera, she's saying..... What ? Think this is gonna stop me ?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Pretty impressive of a squirrel to be both a physicist and a bird feeder

You and my dad could be fast friends. In order to try and preserve some pecans and fruits from his trees, my dad literally chopped off all the low branches of his pecan tree, didn't work. Then he persuaded the neighbors to chop down their fence line trees, didn't work. Covered the fence line with nails, didn't work. Covered the base of the tree in metal sheeting, didn't work. Used various deterrent animal urine, didn't work. Then had the longest branches of the tree professional chopped down and put out traps, caught a few, but that ultimately didn't work. Then he bought fruit covers to protect the fruits from the squirrels, and they just chewed through them. Now we are not allowed to talk about squirrels in front of him, lol.

There has to be a job at NASA for Shirley.

I did the same with squirrels years ago. They are the most clever, smart, persistent animals I have found. We ALL can learn a lesson from these qualities!
  • Dinner with friends: “ So, how’s retirement?” “What are you up to?” 😳😳😬😂😂😂 Wife interrupts and tells the guests all about the “Bird Feeder / Squirrel Feeder😉😂😂

Years ago I found that if I put out a feeder for squirrels in a different area and kept it filled with raw in shell peanuts, they never even looked at my bird feeders.
  • The birds are now feeding at the neighbor’s before lining up on the fence placing bets on Shirley.
