nightmare king feels incomplete without the constant double mask breaking sound
-
For some context, many of the tracks you pointed out leitmotifs in after Nightmare King were actually remixes of previous battle themes for the Godmaster DLC. Sisters of Battle was an arrangement of Mantis Lords, Daughter of Hallownest was an arrangement of Hornet, and White Defender was an arrangement of Dung Defender. Thanks for sharing this with us all today!
-
Hive Knight isn't one of Hollow Knight's more difficult or important bosses, but his theme is low-key phenomenal. Much love to the bee-vomiting boy.
-
For how wonderful the Pure Vessel song was, it's hard to believe that it plays during one of the most challenging fights in the game. An absolutely amazing song for a glorious battle.
-
"I don't know the story" honestly, neither do we. mossbag pretty much does though
-
You mentioned the DLC soundtrack upping the energy: That's probably because most of the new themes are boss music (in a number of cases even 'upgraded' boss music) while the original soundtrack had a lot more environmental backgrounds.
-
Truth, Beauty and Hatered is trully amazing, especially since it was given to someone who is basically a troll boss
-
humanity does not deserve cristopher larkin and no one in the galaxy deserves grimm's battle themes this is too good
-
0:53 Hive Knight 2:55 Truth, Beauty and Hatred (Grey Prince Zote's theme) 4:54 Nightmare Lantern Interlude (Summoning the Grimm Troupe) 5:11 The Grimm Troupe (Grimm's theme) 7:29 Nightmare King (Nightmare King Grimm's theme) 10:20 White Defender 13:59 Dreamers 14:53 Pale Court (Not sure which one this is, maybe it's just a bonus soundtrack) 18:45 Gods & Glory (Pantheon [Many bosses]'s theme) | -------- 20:28 Pantheon Gorb's theme 21:38 Daughter of Hallownest (Pantheon Hornet's theme) 24:34 Godhome 26:33 Sisters of Battle 28:24 Haunted Foes (Pantheon Broken Vessel's, No Eyes', Flukemarm's, Markoth's, Nosk's, NKG's theme)<-correct me if im wrong here 31:01 Furious Gods (Pantheon Failed Champion's theme(and probably many others?)) 32:09 Pure Vessel Hi again! Glad to help another time)

You seem to be a fan of guitars (it was a mystery) so I'd highly recommend Hades. The music is fantastic, it seems right up your alley.
-
The music for Nightmare King Grimm was the only reason I was able to push through the ridiculous amount of attempts that it took to beat him.
-
I love that the calmest piece, Pure Vessel, is actually played during one of the hardest and most intense boss fights in the game.
-
It was great to see you experience more of Christopher Larkin's mind at work! Hollow Knight definitely stands out from many other soundtracks. Also, as a guitar coach, you may have a special interest in the soundtrack of Hades, another stellar indie game with another bombastic soundtrack!
-
Interesting is that you said that hornet's theme is in 3 different realms seeing as hornet was planned to be from 3 queens.
-
The thing I love most about this soundtrack is the uniqueness. Each of those times you look surprised are the best. Like the Shaq face meme, just over and over. A glorious taste of the unique and masterful style Christopher Larkin put into this game. Love this OST to death.
-
I would absolutely love to watch you hear the Outer Wilds soundtrack. (Not Outer Worlds) It's a perfect mix of post-rock, folk, and ambient music all wrapped up in a really novel sci-fi package.
-
The fact that pure vessel plays during one of the 3 hardest fights in the entire game is such a cool thing. It almost adds a weight to the fight; you know what the vessel is, and you know what it becomes (sealed vessel) but seeing it in all its glory, the song is so good at showing that glory. Great video.
-
Grimm's themes are my favorite tracks in the whole game tbh.
-
Pale court is 10/10 theme its so pretty and when you know the lore of the game you can really feel like your watching whats happening happen (spoilers) like listening to it you can really feel that the kingdon is crumbling or at the start theres the kingdom standing tall and you hear it reach its ultimate demise
