In game where abilities rule, surely they have some good ones. Well in emerald elite redux (v1.6) they have plenty of brand new abilities and many are broken. Pokémon like rayquaza and yveltal are some of the lucky few that get access to 10 of these top tier abilities. In this video I go over all ten and the Pokémon that get them and explain how just one of these makes them competitively viable.

So apparently queen's majesty exists in the regular games. My bad lol. But more Pokémon get it now so 🤷‍♂ Its broken though trust me

The fact that Kecleon gets 8 immunities and resists everything else is insane enough, but it also gets PROTEAN as an innate as well, so almost all damage against kecleon is halved, and it gets a 50% boost to all damage on top of that.
  • Applications of these abilities in practice: Air blower: in singles the only mon that infamously wield it to an important degree is yveltal, but it definitely does inflate choice sets while making it’s set up variants a pain to deal with, tho in doubles, you have already infamous doubles staples like tornadus and whimsicott absolutely wreaking havoc, and probably would go utterly unchecked if it wasn’t for the common nature of screens with either Grimm or north wind, or how prevalent trick room styles are, especially psyspam. I do not need to explain color change, since that ability caused the gecko to be “nerfed” in a way that effectively BUFFED it. Fearmonger is good, but tbh it doesn’t really need the set up, and the para rarely happens, even when spamming dual chop for an increased chance. Once the next update comes out and releases its new alternate abilities (you can see that by going to the dex on the discord and clicking the alpha setting on the spot where it says 1.6.1), it’s definitely taking keen edge for increased power. Lead coat is good, and while mega aggron got banned and steelix is thriving due to that and other buffs, dialga actually prefers bulletproof to take on mega blastoise that isn’t in riptide range, while celesteela is usually outclassed by skarm, which also has lead coat Twist definitely helps give trick room their viability, especially pory 2 which anchors those teams, but doubles legit had to ban it since teams like psyspam with hatt and beheeyem and others of the sort just dominated the meta Multiheaded is also responsible for multiple bans, most infamous case is mmaw, but before 1.6 it also forced a complex ban for those moves+the set damage moves like seismic toss. Now it isn’t much of a problem beyond annoyance, but magnezone uses charge beam to actually become a semi threatening breaker in both regular and mega while trapping steels. Queenly Majesty is never seen in practice, mainly because the mons that have it are either not that good or have better alternatives, such as Gardevoir always preferring psychic surge over it. Only exception is aria meloetta, which becomes essentially mew 0.5 with it’s quiver dance stored power sets Rampage doesn’t actually have that many practical users: even the likes Ndm don’t really come up since they actually aren’t that good. Even dnite doesn’t really abuse it most of the time, sticking with ddance sets with espeed, roost and eq with Aerilate. Though it does give regular clawitzer it’s main role on rain as a specs hydrate hyper beam nuke Spider lair, despite its purpose, actually is a detriment to most mons: mainly for the fact that it prevents some mons from setting up permanent webs. So mons who are stuck with them as innates, like spinirak and araquanid, are shackled as a result. Mystic power is a strong ability, but for the mons that use it, it honestly just goes by as a bonus, such as with latios, who’s main power comes from speed boost+stored power and calm mind, but appreciates its any dark move being stab, no matter the type. Tho in the developmental little cup tier, mystic power is actually banned due to abra becoming utter absurd with it and dominating the entire tier. Also ekiller of course gets massively buffed in its anti ghost button not only being stronger in wicked blow but also stab as well.

Stevens dugtrio gives me PTSD. He has swept me TWICE. Even when my breloom paralysed him

I used to play the 1.1 version, so I'm not sure if the ability has been nerfed until now, but damnnn, the strongest ability I saw in the game definitively has to go to Big Leaves! It effectively gives +4 abilities to a pokemon that already has 3 abilities, and they aren't pushovers! Chlorophyll and Solar Power greatly increases the power of offensive grass types while Harvest and Leaf Guard strengthened defensive gameplay, the best candidates for me were Leafeon, that had Feline Prowess to Double on that Sp Atk and abuse it, and Meganium, that, as you said in a previous video, has a lot of other good tanking abilities + Fairy Type that makes it an absolute tank with the right moves

I think my favorite ability has to be Opportunist. +1 priority to all your single-target moves when the target is below 50% makes pokemon like Mightyena one of the most efficient revenge-killers you could possibly ask for. I love it, even if only because it made Mightyena a legitimately good pokemon.
  • Small fun fact: In an earlier version of Elite Redux Gorebyss also had the Color Change ability.

i think North wind is just a brocken Ability, setting up free aurora veile on entry is huge on Pokémon like Suicune
  • @HawkBreland
don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing you talk about stuff from this game tbh lol. great video as always bro, top tier for sure.
  • @kaua4781
Wasn't queenly Majesty already tsareenas signature ability? I'm pretty sure it's not a new redux ability
  • Imagine if they have multi head to barbaracle 😅 (it technically got 7 heads)
  • Also something important to keep in mind: Queenly majesty blocks every priority. Wether the move has priority on its own or due to a innate/ability
  • @hungrysloth7884
Haven't tried out the game, but your videos got me pumped to try it out. Was wondering if you could make a video on the best eeveeloution in the game?
  • @airam1721
Where's momentum it singlehandedly made furret BROKEN Stakataka should've got scrappy tho trust me
  • @Mesmonium
Great video! and you included my boi King Kecleon
  • Honestly multi headed on dugtrio is just broken but not cause of iron head but cause of another move it learns mud slap a free -3 accuracy in 1 turn? Yes please! Stupid broken but im all for it
