Essentially, this video is actually about air vane motors, which find themselves usefull in many industries, but perhaps the most widely known and recogniseable is its application for air impact drivers in auto mechanics shops across the world. In fact, there are a whole family of tools in auto mechanics that utilize this curious method of power..but why ? Turns out many factories, marine envioronments, and dental offices also use air vane motors for doing work. This video is an exploration of this topic through the teardown of a tool that uses an air vane motor as well as an impact hammer to torque and remove various nuts and bolts. I've rebuilt hundreds of hydraulic vein pumps Scotty. The reason the veins are offset is because of pressure. Its the same thing as an expansion chamber on a 2 stroke engine exhaust just think of it like that. Great job on the rebuild buddy. 👍🏻

when i rebuilt my torpedo heater the air pump had the same kind of veins and paddles they have to move easily as the rotor spins grease might not work as well as graphite as a lubricant by the way great video thanks

Nice Video Scotty!! I finally went to a Milwaukee Mid Torque for our shop (I'm usually a DeWalt cordless guy). I don't miss dragging the air line around outside, and can take the gun anywhere now.
