Tamashii (Soul) is the soundtrack for the Yakushima stage. Within the story, it is the place where the main character confronts his inner demon. Years of trauma. Years of him being in the dark. Imagine the main character overcoming that. That's why it felt dramatic. It celebrates a turning point for the main character.

Almost everyone reacts the same way to Storm Rising lol. Namco sound team went all out in it.

Note that My Last Stand is also the Final Boss theme and for that version they have it extended and full, and after the MY LAST STAND part, instead of ending abruptly there is this epic just pure edm solo? I dont know how to describe it, but I WISH Spotify had the full version.

Storm Rising might be the best Tekken track since Moonlit Wilderness in Tekken 5.

Fun fact: at 1:09:29 while listening the the climax of Golden Meadows, that little flute bit when the beat drops is a direct sample from the song for Angkor Wat in the very first Tekken the playstation version at least). They brought back this sample 30 YEARS later just for that drop and I think that's insanely cool! There's also the bit at 1:29:16 that resembles the start of Kyoto in Tekken 1 too.

Tekken 8 has become my favorite FG soundtrack ever. Its just too good in so many ways with banger after banger. I listen to it every time I work out now or just casually almost daily.

Storm Rising's composer is Rio Hamamoto, he's def one of the most talented in the tekken sound team for his ability to make music that's edgy and hard-hitting while also being very cinematic and AAA level. unfortunately so far for Tekken 8 Storm Rising tracks are all he did, along with 2 story mode tracks not in the OST. You should do this with he older Tekken OSTs because starting from Tekken 3 they are crazy good
