Just saying this…. MD agrees with you. Detach 2 with zero monsters in graveyard and was able to reborn one of the materials.
  • Yes! This game 100% needs a database for these rulings to be documented like legal court precedents
  • It amazes me that only the TCG is lacking in proper rulings databases for cards like these. Even MD added links to the OCG database its cards are programmed to follow after a few months, while the TCG has been separated from the OCG for YEARS and never bothered to so much as collect past and current rulings to place precedence for current and future weirdness.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Players: "We need consistency on how card rulings should work." Konami: "Best I can do is MST reprint."
  • @sandstorm7790
Wait so you're telling me nobody knows if the dugares combo line is legal in TCG when it's literally the staple combo sharks have been doing for years and is absolutely legal in OCG?! What the hecccc, that's so dumb
  • @cyberdrache8416
In MD it does work. And logically I explain it like this: Usually you cannot activate an effect to revive without targeting. However: Dugares has 3 effects and 2 of them are live and since first detach and THEN select the effect -> the third effect becomes live too.
  • @monkeybench
Reading comprehension is hard. What people are seeing is "target a monster, detach two, special summon" What it actually reads "Detach 2 THEN special summon from gy"
  • @geek593
This junk is why we need a smaller format with narrower complexity. It's really easy to figure out rulings issues when the card pool is curated instead of a clusterfuck of untested cards that had maybe thirty seconds of quality assurance before release. Less is more.

There is 0 reason for TCG and OCG rulings to be different outside of card errata. The insistence that they are different comes from one guy in the Konami's TCG department with too much power. Same guy who renamed Hope to Utopia because he thought it wasnt manly enough.
  • @ThatsSoGiorgio
Magician’s Souls sends to GY and then you can revive the same card if it was Dark Magician (Girl) even when you had an empty grave but it’s also because the send was cost and therefore, it was a valid monster in the GY when the effect resolves.

Man I hear nothing but facts. They need to fix that ruling its, so confusing for many people. They need to be more clear, and I agree with you king.
  • @ScorpioneOrzion
Either a TCG ruling, or just 1 ruling for all similair formats. That just solves so many problems, and kinda makes the game easier to learn.
  • @brianmead1983
This rulings issue IS SO REAL! I moved from Michigan to Seattle and had so many different rulings I had to relearn the game. Then I moved from Seattle to Illinois and it happened again. Beyond frustrating.

Yeah, there should also a an official english translation of the latest complete japanese rule book. It is totally weird that one has to look up questions mailed to Konami and then one has to ggogle translate the answers from japanese to english and all that stuff.

Just like how when an unaffected monster is being summoned on to the board and you are able to activate Solemn to negate the summon because the monster isn’t on board yet, but in “limbo”, I think the same logic should be applied with detaching materials, they aren’t in the graveyard yet, even though we are placing them there, until the activation is resolved in a chain (even if the chain link is just the one monster’s effect). Limbo logic shouldn’t just be applied to the field, but everywhere.
  • @jameswright1617
Dugares does indeed work the way you think. It was updated recently
  • @violin15895
Honestly I’m astonished that this game is able to attract new players.
  • @StarScreamer
Reading this card makes sense though, he has multiple effect you choose from after paying cost. If his only effect was to reborn a monster I doubt he would work this way.
